IMPORTANT: These 2 items below require some extra setup for Samsung Smartthings.

Instructions for pairing Window Door Sensor with Smartthings Hub

Instructions for pairing Motion Sensor with Smartthings Hub

Please Note: The Visonic Window Door Sensor only works with SmartThings at this time while the Bosch Motion has been confirmed to work with SmartThings and Iris. Everything Else works with virtually any ZigBee wireless Hub.

Absolutely loved my previous order of these Visonic window/door sensors with Smartthings Hub. Pairs easily after following directions for creating New Device Handler. Very small. Common CR2032 battery is way cheaper than CR2s that I have in some other open/close sensors. Temperature seems to be accurate; in fact could just use these as cheap temperature sensors if you need them. $50 for 5 shipped? Yes, please.

Some of them may and do in various ways but to bring them all together SmartThings is the way to go. For example Alexa, Google home, and Google assistant and many other devices like these will connect to SmartThings and at that point you can use them all together. There are all types of apps that users and developers make that you can easily use in the SmartThings app. There is also a large community of DIYers. Newest app I added was the lock my doors App. Automatically locks my doors when I come in or leave.

Edit: HomeKit does work with Zigbee so all products in theory can work with that but I really don't know if they are all supported by HomeKit. The Visonic part is an OEM part and the part number is different than the main stream part number and in most cases is not recognized by anything without some extra work.

Bought the window/door sensors during the last $10 sale. Work great with SmartThings after special setup. Much smaller than any other sensor I have ever purchased. Great deal.

Very happy with my visonic window/door sensors and happy with my bosch motion sensors.

Note that the bosch motion sensors are about the size of a soda/beer can. Also, its a bit front heavy, so if you want to sit it on a shelf you might want to put something like a piece of cardboard under the front to keep it front tipping over and falling.

For sure there are all kinds of apps in Smartthings that can use the Motion as a trigger.

It will function as a motion sensor when you arrive or when no motion is detected after some time if you leave and then trigger some event. It will not operate as a true arrival/presence sensor in the way of some of the little tags, etc.

arrival sensor? Yes. Presence sensor? Not so much. You could in theory trigger something to stay on for 4 minutes, maybe. I havent tried. But in theory, the event would work like this: Motion trigger, turn on light for 4 minutes. Motion sensor goes dark for 3 minutes (don't think anyone has figured out how to bypass this) then if there is still continued motion, it will send another trigger. This is what I see in smartthings.

If I have an ecobee can I use the door/window sensors as temp sensors to talk to it? Im new to this smartthings stuff and plan on buying the kit mentioned here:

https://slickdeals.net/f/10247036-samsung-smartthings-lighting-kit-with-hub-sensor-2-lights-99?v=1

Can I use the motion sensor in that kit in our entryway to turn on the entryway lights when we come home?
