Best Buy has the Refurbished Huawei Mate 9 on sale for $369.99 and when you add a Simple Mobile Sim card and minute refill to your cart it takes $50 off. The cheapest Minute refill is $25 or you can get one of the larger cards if you plan to use it. Yeah this phone just has a FHD screen but all the reviews I have watched say the screen is excellent, gets very bright, and they cant tell that its only FHD. I am upgrading to this from an LG G3 which has a Quad HD screen but I dont like it because it is dark and I have to keep the brightness turned down because it kills the battery. I dont like the new skinny and taller aspect ratio of the new LG G6, and Samsung S8 and S8+. I think with the screen being narrower it makes it feel smaller than it really is.

But what's wrong with it feeling smaller than it actually is? I actually would've chosen the G6 over the S8+ if LG would've came out with a bigger 6.2" plus model like Sammy did. As far as upgrading from the G3 to the Mate 9, that's a no brainier, the Mate 9 is a beast. Well, other than the lower resolution display that is. I know a lot of people don't mind FHD & if that's the boat your in great, but for me, I can tell the sharpness difference from FHD to Quad-HD. Especially in bigger than 5.5" screens, if it's FHD on 5.5" or less, then yeah, FHD is great. But at 6.0" it's noticable. I used to have the 6.44" Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition & I could badly notice the FHD display. I wouldn't notice it that badly on the Mate 9, but I would definitely notice it, especially on the home screen app icons & web text. Also, why didn't you just crank the brightness on your G3 & then swap the battery out for a fresh one? That's the beauty of removable batteries.

I just dont like the narrower screens because I like a large screen phone and when its narrower it just looks smaller to me. I never bothered with swapping batteries in my G3 because it is just a pain to do because I have an otter box defender case on it which would have to be removed evertime I wanted to swap batteries. Plugging it in every chance I get is just more convienient for me but still a pain in the butt which is why Im getting the Mate 9.

Yep, they charge $35 restocking fee- no matter what- see screenshot I took at end of checkout. Also return is 14 days, period- even if you are a Elite or Elite plus member.
Now I understand it for new phones, but I find it a little ridiculous that they charge it for open box and refurbished phones.

how good is WaWa at updating their phones? I know they make quality phones because im using the Nexus 6p and I like it a lot. But since it's a Nexus device, I get timely updates directly from Google. Another advantage of owning a Nexus or Pixel device.

Seriously I really can't tell this FHD vs and Qhd. They are using really good IPS panel.
I came from Nexus 6p with oled qhd panel. My battery life(SOT) doubled by switching from Nexus 6p.
