My opinion is that some things are a "buy once, cry once" situation. This is one of them. Griot's is a good name and this has some solid features. I've been looking for a deal on this for a long time. I'll bet that for my non-professional but frequent use it will last me forever. It does have a lifetime warranty, so no worries there. If you are thinking of getting one, this is a solid deal.

Since you are new polishing, just do your research and watch vids on YouTube so you don't damage your paint or waste any time and money.

Not for me, especially when compared to HF dual action one. It works so well that I might consider the Griot's one as a downgrade.

Best in class power for lower priced polishers, look at the amperage rating compared to harbor freight or porter cable. Also the back plate, pad, polish, and lifetime warranty add value.
