Was at Walmart today and saw that they had the Ring Stick Up Cam on clearance for $99. This is probably a similar deal to the 1st Gen Ring Doorbell. They will likely be updating the Stick Up the same way soon to be 1080 with removable battery. If this is like the Doorbell deal then you could find it marked for $50 as well, haven't checked Brickseek yet.
$99 at one store in my area. What is the coverage though? I have a few low end camera now under $40 but can move them in any direction. What would really make these better other then 2 way talk which I kind of can do with my foscam just never played around with them.
I just ran to my local walmart. Even though it says Ring, Outdoor Security Kit
1 Ring Video Doorbell, 1 Ring Stick Up Cam and a solar panel for easy charging NO DOORBELL Security kit was just the camera and solar panel.
So I have the stick up cam. It is not very fast in picking up motion and 'starting' the video. This may not matter depending on the viewable angle you have or the space you are trying view, but just know that if it is a tight or small space you may miss some 'events'.
Other than that it is pretty cool. It takes the place of the doorbell for me and works pretty well.
The only other negative, is that there are a lot of false positives. Birds, squirrels and sometimes the wind in the trees/bushes set off the motion detector.
