Good luck everyone. I just realized I'm already a 2½ time winner! I knew about the 2 Daily Draw wins but I didn't realize that I also won in 2024. I didn't even know about the contest. Just found the email in my Spam folder. Oh well, I guess I lost the $5 gift card. Anyway, I'm banned from winning again for another 2½ months so I'll have to live vicariously through everyone else. I had a first generation model of these translator pens. They were great 15 years ago, when I often had to read foreign medical journals. It was tedious going line by line but it worked. But it's 2025. Everyone has a cellphone. And every cellphone has a camera and access to free translation software. Simply take a photo of the entire page and submit it the translator. In less than a second, you'll have a full translation.
As for reading, that would only be useful to the blind. But you need to see the page to guide the pen so it can't be used by the blind. Furthermore, there are free apps that can OCR and read out a page. In fact, many of the above translator apps can do it.
In other words, I don't see how this thing can be useful. In fact, I'm shocked to see that it exists. I guess there is a tiny market of people who need immediate translations with no access to the Internet?
