TU. I can replicate it just fine. In your cart, use the coupon code provided above, ZW001717.

In for a micro switch and minimote to turn on bathroom exhaust fan when, aherm, seated.

Thanks, OP!

Can anyone comment on the Aeotec Z-Stick Series 5?

I am extremely ignorant to all things home automation and I am just getting started with Z-wave devices (I have 2 dimmer switches and 1 toggle switch). I don't have any hubs at the moment, although I do have a echo. Would I be better of just buying Smartthings?

I have that stick and I use it with a Raspberry PI and Domoticz. Works great, very solid, but there's more configuration work (and more flexibility) than a prepackaged hub like Smartthings.

How does these compare to the Monoprice z-wave equivalents?

Thanks Iconian but This(the energy meter) must be a real loser, goes on sale more than it's regularly priced. Harder to find a regular price versus sale price. It's likely generation 1.0 or beta 0.9

New to home automation... why are these 3x the price of the Visonic sensors? Is it just quality/reliability? Do these also propogate the wi-fi signal to other devices where the Visonic sensors don't?

Don't even think, get smart things . The smart things community is amazing. They have so many useful handlers for almost any device. Google it and you'll see. I'm so glad I chose it over Vera or wink. I see many wink owners upset over this or that not being supported. I Grabbed the ST package from smart things.com listing here. Got the hub, 2 bulbs and a motion sensor for 99. Just a little pissed that all the accessories are so overpriced . 50 bucks for a phucking wall switch. Hopefully prices will come down soon.
Edit- this is a response to hoagie2003 but stupid app keeps posting as comment, not a reply.

when you get your minimotes charge them right away and check to see that they hold a charge. ive had to return some that didnt hold a charge at all or only a couple of days.

I got mine for $12/ea with the ebay $15/$75 code that comes around about once a month.

they work great with the ST app button controller. each of the 4 buttons has a short and long press for a total of 8 functions.

The Aeon Labs Z-Wave Smart Energy Switch Minimote and Siren Gen5 are rated as 2 of the best by the Samsung Community...I have Smartthings all set up in my home and all I really need is a siren. I have been researching them for a few weeks now. The Aeon Labs one came up every time when I searched their forum. None of the sirens are perfect and all have their issues...including this one. But it has been the one most users have gone with...again according to their forum members...

The battery sirens are okay, but they arent very loud and you wont hear hear them very far outside.

a much better siren set up is to get a couple of the monoprice plug outlet controllers and your choice of horn sirens with a matching rated adapters. then use the siren handler for the outlet.
