Maybe the paint/stain they use, leaches chemicals in which the wind can carry away when it's outside. But there's no wind inside so the chemicals just stay stagnant for you to breath in.

This is a great product. We brought it last year for around 750$. It's been outdoor for entire year and still looks new. I would highly recommend this product and specially for this price, it is a steal.

So ordered this 7-piece sofa set Tuesday and got it today/Thursday around 12:30pm. Finished it around 4:30pm, so took about 4 hours. Ended up having the kids help and sort but I did the actual assembly. Didn't want threaded screws and nuts all over the place. Lots of those square-headed screws and 10mm nuts. Do yourself a favor and use your own tools (e.g., ratchet with 10mm hex, battery powered screwdriver with square head, sorry don't know the size). I'm in pretty good shape and man my lower back was killin' me. Came in 2 very large boxes but fairly easily to carry with 2 people.

Anyway, initial impressions:
-the set looks really nice and very attractive
-the cushions move all over the place; need to find something to keep them from sliding everywhere like super strong outdoor velcro or something.
-one part was broken, a foot-piece, as shown in the photo below. they are sending me an entire replacement in 5 days or so, shipping from Indiana to CA.
-each unit is super light so you can move it around easily but it also means they can shift and slide around easily too. definitely not a set that the kids can go jumping on or flying on to.
-before assembling it, lay out all the pieces (each part has a letter stickered on it) and make sure you have all the components. it's fairly easy to put together but takes some time and sweat.
-the instruction manual is really short and simple. something like 4-5 pages total with big pictures so it isnt intimidating at all.
-overall the quality is "okay". i am sure the costco stuff is much better quality-wise but i'm happy at $600 to my door. it is really nice looking and the cushions do feel comfortable.
-give it a 8 out of 10. nod

Update: We got these at Home Depot http://www.homedepot.com/p/VELCRO.../202261921 and they are working out well so far not allowing the cushions to slide.

The reviews on Amazon look pretty good, but you know how that goes. It has aluminum frame vs powder coated, Costco also has the aluminum. The main difference I see is that these are just cleanable cushions (and get good reviews), but the ones at Costco have the Sunbrella cushions which are supposedly mildew/stain resistant....wonder if you could just Scotchguard these cushions to make them equal? My thoughts are that I am going to cover mine no matter what when not in use and I have heard the Sunbrella cushions will eventually mildew as well if left out. Not sure if it makes enough difference to pay almost twice the price for the Costco one at $1000. Anyone have any thoughts on comparison, or have experience with the Sunbrella cushions vs these?

No problem...I don't know that I was that helpful. I'm trying to figure out what to do as well. Have a big back deck with nothing on it and it is screaming for something like this, so I am about to pull the trigger and go with it. Here's the $1000 Costco deal someone posted the other day. That is what I was speaking of but it is not really a sectional type the way this set is.

Yes, you are supposed to purchase a cover for the set for when it rains...that, or take the cushions inside before rain...which is a royal pain, so I would opt for the cover. Cover helps prevent fading of the cushions as well
