419 + 10% ebay bucks was the best I have seen on this card and that was the cheapest I ever saw a 1080 GTX go for. That was back at the end of March.

Vega is the card that was supposed to come out in May, then June, then July and yeah, it will definitely come out in August. You'll have to F5 at your PC all day and night so you can sneak one past the miners that will be buying them by the case. You'll then be asked to pay a 30% price premium for one and by that time, shit you should have just gotten a 1080 for $460 when you had the chance.

What was the pre-mining price or the lowest price this card has been? There's different variations of GTX 1080 by Gigabyte but this one is weaker than G1 version right?

I need to pick up a card sometime soon to upgrade my 5 years old card, except everything is so pricey lately. And with tax in CA, this probably shoots to over $500...

From all reports, Vega will be about the same as a GTX1080 but cost more. There is a reason AMD bundled the monitor cost in with their GPU solution cost.
What is this monitor and GPU bundle you're speaking of?

AMD did some marketing tests where they pitted the RX Vega against a GTX 1080. They said the AMD solution was about $300 cheaper but that also included the cost of a freesync and gsync monitor for their respective cards.

Right, Wish I had pulled the trigger at 420 (i didn't have 10% ebay bucks never get those). This may be the best we see for a while on a decent 1080. I know people are hoping for the mining craze to end, but unless you want sloppy seconds from a miner it may be hard to get a new card for a decent price for a while.

don't g-sync monitors carry ~$200 premium? wouldn't that make the vega still $100 cheaper?

No. The monitors used in that test actually had a $600 price difference leading some to claim Vega would be priced much higher than the GTX 1080 but have also have better performance than the 1080TI. If AMD had a card that could compete or beat the 1080TI, they would be showing off objective frame rate numbers instead of using the "subjective" tests on which system felt better... AMD has done a great job with Ryzen in the CPU market but this does not appear to have been replicated with Vega.
