This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Yes, but is it really necessary to be explicit every five seconds???And it is NOT necessary to explicitly explain every 2 posts how the coupon is being misused. That is also why there is a pm function.
I didn't find the PM function here until well after I discovered the Lounge! laugh out loud

hey, when i was brand new i was drowning in information. I had it spelled out time after time for me, and i still didnt get it. It finally clicked. If i don't get a deal on the information available, I move on.
And this was a big part of the reason why.

I guess I just filter out the repetitive stuff and focus on what's important to me: how to work the SD, and what to watch out for that might stop it happening. If I really slowed down to read every "Thanks, OP, repped!" and "Pls tell me will the RAM work with my laptop" posts, I'd go crazy!

I totally agree with this. And I read and read and read before I ever started posting or PMing people. It's like people expect to join and start walking away with $25 GCs and paying $3 OP on their first trip to T. Patience and practice young grasshoppers. I learn something new every day on this site. You just have to read.

The thing I'm starting to notice here is that there are two types of SDers. Those who are in it for the "long haul" with a particular store and those who just want to get in, get as much as they can on one particular deal, and get out.

These second type of peeps never try (AFAICT) to "learn" the system, so they can never seem to figure out ANYthing on their own. It's why (I think) if you are a regular WAG shopper, we are constantly inundated on those threads with the same questions over and over and over again. . . .

And why the same thing happens on the T thread whenever there's a hot GC or other deal that makes it to HD. Or someone starts a thread about it in the DS forum.

Those who are in it for the long haul 1) take the time to "learn the system" of whatever store they are shopping at (so they don't need every little thing explained to them-- they figure out how it works and then go from there) and 2) are smart enough not to make a spectacle of themselves with any one particular deal. They want to be able to keep going back to that store w/o wearing dark glasses and a wig.

Sorry, I'll get off the Soap Box now. Just something I've been wanting to get off my chest for awhile now.

Do I need to go back to being the Quintessential Newbie? laugh out loud I still learn something new every day - but I do so in asking informed people smart questions, not repeating the same dang thing over and over in the deals thread. Like today, a bogo acted differently at 2 stores. I'm scratching my head.

What the heck is going on in here? Everyone's flamin in the K thread, come over here and here it goes again....Use the darn q. By Monday's update they will have figured out they put an extra 9 in it and they will fix it. Until then, get some greeting cards, or don't. Not gonna make bank either way.

Now, back to beavers, badgers, cockbergs and the mystery of the Sobe baby boom:

Ya know what? The TQ in question says, "Maximum value: 9.99" I don't know that I've ever seen a $10 greeting card, but they do get pretty pricey. (Maybe some of the "talking" or "singing" greeting cards are $10. Personally I find those very annoying. Smilie)

I don't think it's supposed to be a $.99 Q. I think it's supposed to self-adjust to the price of whatever cards you buy, but instead it's just taking the maximum value possible off for all.

T might go bankrupt with all the HD peeps buying PS3s and HDTVs with their greeting card TQs.

I am sure other people will catch on to what is going on when they use "that coupon" and T will fix it soon. I know another blog site ( www. attentiontargetshoppers. com) that now finds stuff on SD and posts about it and says where they get the info. It will not be long before that coupon has Targets attention and gets fixed. It's too bad.

My DD asked me which candidate I'm voting for. I said, "I'm putting my name down as the 3rd candidate on the ballot."
