Aww, I feel kind of bad for John McCain. I do think he wanted the best for the country, I just don't happen to agree with his politics. Don't get me wrong, I voted for Obama and I am definitely glad he won, but I do believe McCain was genuine in his belief that he could help America. He had tears in his eyes when he gave his concession speech and he didnt let people talk sh*t about Obama for the most part. Plus he reminds me of my dad (My dad is O-L-D-76). Now Palin, I don't think she had anyone's best interest but her own in mind.

one man's trash is another man's treasure!

contractors love those buckets! great for mixing things in, carrying your tools around, etc.

also great for gardeners and doing stuff around the house.

you should check to see how much those things are at home depot/lowes! i think next yr you could charge more....like 50cts, 3/1 no problem. they might go a little slower, but you will probably still sell them all.

Actually I feel like I've seen more "new" deals in here recently than on the deals thread...

Thanks slowtech! Like your recaps, this was a very helpful set of tips. I'd come help you if I could - sounds like you are the master of the garage sale! worship

So, I spent all morning yesterday back at the hospital (planned this time). My "pee" test Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) was borderline; the rest were negative.

So they are NOT putting me on bedrest, I CAN go ahead and go on the trip DH and I set up for next week (to Scotland and Ireland woot) but now I have to have monthly ultrasounds (which I don't really mind-- more chances to keep an eye on junior Wink ) and a bunch of other tests (they want to test my vision and for me to have an EKG).
Sorry that they didn't chalk it up to a mistake, but I'm really happy that they gave you the go ahead to take your trip. I wish DH and I would have taken just one more big trip before our first was born...

This is EXACTLY how I feel too.

Thanks for the yard sale tips. I'm thinking maybe I'll have my first yard sale this Dec if I can get enough free stuff at Kmart double coupon days. I have 2 Kmarts close by and can make daily runs to both. They are not close together and the towns are far apart but if I have a shopping list I can make quick runs. I sure would like some extra money...

I have 40 or so boxes packed now. I'm not sure what to pack up next (I'm only trying to pack up stuff we won't use in the next few months, all kid toys are oging into see through Sterilte containers). I feel like my entire house is being put into cardboard boxes or Rubbermaids. Makes it organized, but makes you feel like you're living in a giant child's fort.

I totally hear ya. I do think that some of McCain's ads (or the RNC / 579 ads) were below the belt, but his concession speech was very heartfelt and good - I think was the best speech I'd ever seen him give. That said, I'm soooo glad that things went the way that they did.

Is anybody here not happy Obama won? I guess I should restate that....I'm not not happy, but I just don't think there will be much "change" that he's saying. I mean, realistically, how much power does the president have? Not much. It should be interesting to see what he does. Someone on CNN was talking today about when will Obama state what he's not going to change or when he will realize he can't fix and change everything he's stated that he will. I think Obama is a great man and educated and makes great speeches, though. I guess time will tell...

Geez, I miss one day of reading this thread and I missed out on a whole bunch of fun!

I tried that at the poll this morning Evillaugh but they told me, "You're not qualified to run for Pres, no matter what Ariel told you, b/c you're not MADE in the USA."

laugh out loud I totally spit out my Pepsi when I read this!! *Note to self, do not drink while reading posts in the Target Chat Thread!!!

I'll bring the DVD of "the Little Mermaid" next time and tell them so as I'm pointing to the front cover. "You dare to contradict Ariel, the daughter of Titan?"

Hey, I like that name!! Nice choice (if you go with it)!

I think it's $5.99 at Walgreens this week, and it qualifies for $2 on the Easy Saver rebate. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me. Going off memory for price, for sure it's a $2 ESR, limit one for $2.00.
You are correct!

I'm grateful that it doesn't look like I have pre-eclampsia, but now my pregnancy has gone from simple to complicated. I know it could be way, way worse-- but I'm a worrier by nature and was really hoping they'd just say, "Oh, sorry. It was all a stupid mistake." Embarrassment
hug I am glad it doesn't look like you have pre-eclampsia. woot But, it does suck that it wasn't ruled out. I had a "complicated" pregnancy as well and did have to have numerous testing and ultrasounds (DD was thought to have Down's Syndrome due to the nuchal fold test and the bloodwork). It was a terrifying time. Just try to stay calm and enjoy your pregnancy (if you can, I know it's really tough to do). I do wish I could have enjoyed mine, but was constantly worried. Like you said, the bright side is that you get to see the little one more often!

I hope you have a wonderful time with your trip to Scotland and Ireland - wow!!

7- it's better to take decorative items like picture frames, crystal and silver out of the box so that people can see it and touch it. i put the box right next to it. they are going to take it out of the box anyway. if it's in the box it doesn't move. out of the box, most of it sells.
Only exception to the rule is brand new toys. I have done very well with these, esp. at my most recent yard sale (last Saturday!), because people are buying them as gifts.

Have you tried going to Barnes and Noble? They usually have those papers at your local store.
Larger, nicer grocery store chains also have them. Our Wegmans carries newspapers from across the country and even international papers.

So ... is anyone looking for the $10 Tidy Cats printables? I've got 2 more. PM me, and we can work a trade. Big Grin

Can I just say how YUMMY a tuna fish sandwich on whole wheat, untoasted English muffin tastes?!? Its FAB! I can't stand a toasted plain English muffin, but somehow, a whole wheat one, untoasted, is just the bomb. Why are there never coupons out for those?!?

Me! wave Lots of his over-the-top promises and comments disturb me, and I really think he will find it an uphill battle to implement all the "change" he wants to do. But hey, if he's going to pay for my gas and pay for my mortgage, well, who WOULDN'T like a guy like that?!? LMAO laugh out loud LMAO laugh out loud

wave But I have to say I was not happy with either choice. It certainly was an historic election though, and I think many are for Obama because they really hopeful for change. I always liked John McCain, but not for president. And hopefully now Palin won't be in the news so much, can't stand her!

Yeah, my DH was just saying he wonders if we should call the bank today and give them notice that since Obama will be president that we won't be making our house payments! I told him, no, nobody else gives notice! laugh out loud I just hope a lot of people aren't disappointed.

IMO - if McCain wanted to pick a running mate from Alaska, he should have chosen LaTeri for the position. Evillaugh

The best change will be now I don`t have to listen to some of my unemployed black/brown male friends say "I don`t have a job because you don`t know what it is to be a black man living in America." I can comeback now and say, "it didn`t seem to effect a black man named Obama who was raised by a single parent." enjoy the next 4 years. equal playing field now. No more hearing about minority discrimination. poor this, poor that. We is all equal now. The best thing that happened to this country in 150 years.nod
