This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

I had a most interesting trip to T just now. Christmas help is here Big Grin
got the ususals, glade, got some free dog snacks (thanks for the q stormy)...also got some tgif, got 2 cranium games, picked up some goody hair stuff....

the cashier is young and new, and she doesn't have a scanner gun. GC prompt comes up for the candles and she can't authorize the gift card. So she has to call the LOD over...he has her void the order and move to a register with a scanner gun.

She gets everything rung up, and she scans the free dog treat q first. She then crumples it up.EEK! I told her I thought she needed to keep that in her drawer, and she said, 'I never keep them.' I said "really?" she said 'no, do you want them back after I scan them?'.......Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Anyone around here from CO? My DH is thinking about moving us there, and I need to know about the Targets in the area before I decide!

You can not base a potential relocation on targets. You need to also include KM and other big stores just in case. also proximity to other SD'ers so you get all the good inventory.

Question for people buying the EBO...What age group is the product for....My kids are just 27 months old..Should I buy it now and add it to their gift pile...
Quote from Devilmomma :
It depends how long you want to store it. For $5, do you want to store it for 2 yrs? I could be tempted. Even if it went on clearance between now and then, the most you usually get toys for is 75% off. $19.99 - 75% = $5
don't forget, EBO is redesigned every few yrs to reflect the trend in kitchen appliances. see-
http://www.hasbro.com/easybake/de...ge=History

in 40 yrs, it's been redesigned 11 times.... or just under every 4 yrs.

Rofl2 Like a good little couponer, you told her to put them in her drawer so she will still be a jedi the next time you go. Right?

ok, so if she saves it for 2 yrs, she'll have 2 yrs before the next one comes out...since it was just redesigned last year. Or she'll just have an "old-fashioned" one when they're ready to use it. laugh out loud

My worry would be that the mixes available at the time your child was old enough to use it wouldn't work properly with the model you purchased earlier...ie the baking time changes due to the oven reaching a different temp or the size of the oven itself changing. God knows how long the mixes last.
At least you can get gender neutral colors now. Boys like to bake too so why should it be all girly?
Oh well, since my kids and I have recently had to go gluten free easy bake treats are a nono now. shake head vomit

Ok guys....I think I'm going to have to spend more time over here. I had to get away from the target deals thread for a while after some of the crap that went on over there earlier in the year. I finally make my way back and its more of the same. I feel my blood boiling every time I get to reading over there. How may times can the same questions be asked, answered, and harped on?...A lot I guess. Confused

I'd rather read about banana bunkers anyway. Smilie

I just read slowtech's recaps. Anything worth knowing will be in there. The rest just gives me a headache.

Random and a bit OT but I'm very curious.. has anyone ever gone dumpster diving at a Target dumpster? I read on here that when you find an item that rings up as "$0.00" that means it was thrown in the dumpster... and it got me wondering.

Circuit City used to put a lot of nice things in their dumpster. Nothing like digital cameras, just unopened bonus DVD's, limited edition mousepads, sampler cd's and the sort.

Oh I heard they do that with food items that have been returned (from employees themselves). I guess goodwill makes sense, too. Thanks & repped.

Yes! Especially where people are talking about rigging the blinkie machines to get a ton of blinkies. Smash and grabbers are really bad here. That's all I need is for one of them to figure out how to get all the blinkies in one swoop. shake head
I couldn't agree more. I personally am GLAD that we have to wait 30 seconds for a coupon to spit out of the blinkie machine, if we have to wait it assures us that the smash/grabbers have to wait as well and are unlikely to completey empty it. It disgusts me that someone actually bothered to find a way to cheat the system and even more that they feel the need to tell others how to do it as well. I hope the person that decided to cheat the system shares their secret to someone that lives right down the street from them, would serve them right. laugh out loud

The only stuff that goes into the dumpster is damaged/used merchandise. The ones labeled with the red stickers at Guest Service. So mostly it is cosmetics and HBA customers didn't like and returned, etc. Every once in awhile they'll be something good (the computer system tells you what to sticker) like a small appliance or dishes but before the stuff is thrown into the dumpster the LOD has to look through it for these 'good' items and pull them out to donate to Goodwill.

depends on the location. some regions sell it to goodwill, some hire a company to sell it at auction like this one-
http://cgi.liquidation.com/auctio...id=2039581

then you might find it at your local flea market. some of these auctions are meant to be sold at retail overseas.

for awhile, we didn't have any good clearance around me. it would disappear after 30pct. then i found you could buy a shipping container of target salvage for just under $10,000 just down the road at the auction warehouse. they stopped that after a few months. this was a few yrs ago. but i see they are trying it again.
