This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Do you drive 128 miles each way just to shop at target? If you have a Kmart closer to you, check that thread out. You will be happy you did. Wow, the gas and wear and tear on your car would make that long of a trip not worth it.
Yes, It is one way.....That is why I gather up info. and plan when I can go to one. Thanks for responding. Kmart is 90 miles away. I HATE living in the middle of No-where!

I use Lock and Lock containers that have dividers inside and pack sliced fruit, veggies, ham, crackers, cheese, etc. My daughter LOVES Spam, so one section is filled with Spam and the others are healthy laugh out loud

My daughter has a severe addiction to Tuna Helper. She eats it 4 days a week for lunch and 3 for dinner. (Its so expensive and I can never get a deal on it, argh!). The other day at lunch she eats an Uncrustable, strawberry only!

I put in little containers a variety of fruit (mandarin oranges, peaches, mixed fruit, apricots, basically i buy every variety of canned fruit in juice and make a snack cup for her)

Lately I have been sticking a cookie or two in there (I got a bunch of the halloween cookies for .10, probably 60 packages, and i had $1/2 so I got them all for free Smilie ) instead of her normal dorritos.

I am going to Target now, this is fun. I think I am going to screw up royally on some of the toys but oh well. I am just trying to get an EBO and a cranium game for a birthday gift. Hope it goes well.

Great idea, I could use some new ideas too!

My ds loves PB&J so he takes that every day but I try to switch up the sides. He likes fresh fruit, veggie chips, fruit chips, pretzels, baby carrots, red pepper slices with ranch dip, cheese sticks, and different flavors of apple sauce cups. For his dessert he takes granola bars, granola bites, dry cereal, raisins, yogurt covered raisins, other types of dried fruit or fruit snacks. Also, when it's hot, I freeze kool-aid or gatorade in a small ziplock container and then by lunch time it's slushy. He loves that.

My dd is 3 so she is still at home with me and she eats a tuna to go pack pretty much every day....unless we're at Target then we splurge and she gets the kids hot dog & slush combo!

I used to buy those small wide mouth thermos things that will fit in a lunch sak. I would put ramen noodles or some kind of soup in it and my kids loved it. the soup would still be hot/warm at lunch, also, left overs worked good it in too.

My DS loves a hot lunch. I got a couple of those Thermos funtainers, at T of course. He brings pasta, soup, or leftovers from dinner the night before in his batman or star wars thermos most days. He also loves rollups where I send him with lettuce, coldcuts, cheese, veggie strips and gets to roll them up and eat them. He loves yogurt, fruit, veggie sticks, and of course cheese sticks and boxes of juicy juice. He has celiac disease like me so normal breads cookies and baked goods are out. I make a special batch of cookies or brownies a couple times a week as well as a loaf or two of special bread so there are options for him.

Cold pasta salads if your kids will eat them - put them in a thermos thing. Easy to make a simple Italian style one - cooked rotini, some olive oil, chopped up salami/pepperoni, thick cuts of cheese, some red onion, olives. (Ok, maybe my tastes as a kid were a bit mature look around )

Fresh bagel sandwich every once in a while.

Soup and oyster crackers.

Love granola bars and yogurt - that's a tradition that's kept up with lunch even now laugh out loud

If you want me to get into "theme" school lunches... I can do that too Wink

Slightly offtopic is that while perusing the greeting card aisles at T a few weeks back, saw they had boxes of "lunch notes" that you could write on to put in with their lunches - was cute.

ETA: Chexmix during the Holidays. Trailmix. Homemade lunchables (just put together cheese, crackers, and thicker cut meat together - along with some grapes/apple and a cookie or two) - we have that kind of lunch when we're busy and just need to throw something together quick. Also very easy to take along with on the road when you're tired of sandwiches on road trips laugh out loud

Question for people buying the EBO...What age group is the product for....My kids are just 27 months old..Should I buy it now and add it to their gift pile...

I would personally add it to their gift pile, my 6 year old has one and I still have to do all most all of it for her.. Just as easy to let her help me bake cookies or brownies in the oven for now.
