This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! Quote from laina :
Hey Tootsie - our schools used to be like that as well, before that it was if someone in the class had an allergy to something, it was banned from that classroom. .... they changed it to if a child brings anything to do with Peanuts or PB for lunch, that child has to sit outside the classroom at a desk and eat it.

The parents of the class all agreed on this and it hasn't been a problem so far.
Ok - I am glad that works for you guys. However - not intending to offend, I am going to say something which is unpopular - but I have to say my reaction to this is -- are you kidding? I have one daughter who has REALLY severe learning disabilities (dyslexia, cognitive issues, memory issues, etc. --- I mean think that in some areas she scored below the 40 range on the IQ scale which is WAYYYY out there in standard deviations) It takes her far far longer to learn something than other kids if she gets it at all ---- with the same logic the entire class would be required to go as slowly and repititively as she needed which would be neither fair to the class nor represent real life. She has to go to special classrooms for stuff and is integrated where it does not cause a disruption or negatively impact the other kiddos. Would it be nicer for her if she could be with the "normal" kids all the time - sure, however it would not be nicer for them. I am very sorry that she has to be treated differently because of her different needs, but that is the way it is. When she gets out into the real world they aren't going to change everything for her, and she has to learn coping strategies now. I am sorry but I feel the same way about allergies - why are the other kids being penalized? When one goes out into the working world most places aren't going to alter stuff for folks with allergies - I don't get it.

And I am sorry - from my reading I don't buy it - why are the numbers for folks with allergies only up in the US? We have members in our family who have severe food allergies, but I wouldn't say that it is any more prevalent now than 30 years ago (really - ) There are a couple of reasons for this ... 1) Far more people receive medical care than 100 years ago - so there is a greater percentage of the population in the docs office 2) We have far more diagnosis being made because we have stricter/clearer definitions of illnesses/diseases (where years ago folks just were not diagnosed - it was just part of life)

Please do not think that I am not sympathetic! I AM! I wish that all kiddos were healthy and had no need for any medical/special care --- but that is not real life. And it isn't up to others to fix them/suffer for them. Maybe my views are skewed (sometimes in some ways I wonder about how things happen as they happen) with one daughter who is high level special needs, another with kidney problems, and a son who they are talking about autism spectrum ---- but we will figure it out ---

My stomach is already in knots. Too bad I'm not one of those people who can't eat when stressed....unfortunately I have the opposite problem laugh out loud
Me too! I always wished I was the DON'T eat when stressed girl!

Quote from tootsie67 :
We feel so blessed that our child gets to sit all by herself at a specially marked table isolated from other children Frown Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Oh, and it's documented that food allergies are on the rise. I have studied the literature. I didn't pull that out of my ass. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic).
You don't have to respond - we can agree to disagree on the second point ---- but on the first I wanted to send HUGS HUGS HUGS!!!!!! I am sorry that your kiddo has those issues! I wish we could just cure this stuff - or that our kiddos never had it in the first place!!! HUGS HUGS HUGS

You have some really good points. Raising a child with special needs, I know how it feels too. There are times when they do need one on one or specialized classes. But we don't want to go backwards. I am older than most here, and I remember when special children were in institutions. They didn't even go to regular schools. It is all about give and take. We can all learn from each other. Which is worse: a child who sits alone every day because they have allergies, or one who sits alone one day if they bring pnut butter.

I saw a bunch of Hannah Montana room decorating stuff on clearance. Grab a few of the camera gift cards for her..don't have to put money on them do you? Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I always check out amazon for cd's but that is because my ds likes ones that are hard to find and amazon is cheaper.
I got a lot of the Hannah Montana room stuff at 75% off.. I saw more come out.. just havent looked yet. Since we remodeled from a 3Bdr/1Ba house to 5bdr/2ba, she has her own room.. can ya guess the theme??? We found these CUTE window shades (not curtains) for $10 at TRU... Maybe I will get a few more things for her room. Maybe more CDs... this makes it SO difficult now! My other DD still wants dolls! Not so ready to move on out of dolls and easy stuff to get!

Yes,

I got on on Target Chat Target Deals and now I need to find some time to catch up on the other forums..

CVS and Kmart...lol

But anyway, if anyone has any of those scrubbing bubble shower cleaner rain checks..I can trade some thing for them..

I am working too much now..but next month this week I will be laid off again. At the moment who knows how long..I am hoping for under 3 months.

Thanks for all the runs posted here...Now that the deal thread is getting weird.
Also yesterday's Target run..Who took all those peelies.

The only ones I found were on the Nice and Easy Hair coloring kits and the ones next to them. $1peelies on the 2.99 boxes and $2 peelies on the other boxes that were priced like 6.99.

Just a heads up I found some $6 peelies on the Disney Little Einsteins DVD. I know there not as great as the $10 peelies that people are finding, but for those of us who cant find the $10 ones, or used up the $10 ones i thought this would be a nice peelie to go with the disney dvds that are in the BF ad, they are coded the same as the $10 peelie. For the record, I am not even reading the T thread anymore. Can't keep up and it takes to long to sift through the bull. Any chance we can get SlowTech to post the recaps here too?

Tried the Cranium deals, BEEP. Tried a new combo with the LeapFrog Q's on the Fridge thing, BEEP., Playskool, BEEP. Lots of beeps.
I did find the FP target one but didn't try it. Have to read back and see what its worked on for some hopefull beepless uses.

LOTS of boys underwear at 75% off at 2 stores. Fruit of the Loom for $2.48 minus $1Qs. But the smallest sizes were small 6-8 and I need tiny ones.

Saw Disney themed scrapbooks but only at 30%. Tinkerbell, Mickey, Camp Rock and one more. Not cheap enough yet.

Celestial Green Tea on clearance and there are some $1 Qs out there.

One store had a huge selection of Goody products in the $2.19 range. Lots of cute little girly color clips and head bands.

LOVE that Q.
