Just to let you know that my SIL is now back home with us. They let him out of the hosptial 2 days ago.
They gave him more radiation on his spine and chest and have given him some kind of patch to wear for pain - and that is working for his pain..
He will continue to go to the hosptial for blood transfusions - they know that won't get rid of the leukemia but it may prolong his life a little bit longer than the 2 months he's been given.
It's nice to have him back home and my granddaughter can't stop smiling. She also tells him everyday, Daddy I wish everynight that you're cancer will go away, brings tears to our eyes everytime...
Got all my Christmas stuff out and am going to start decorating the house inside and out next week... (we've already had our Thanksgiving in Oct. so it's okay to get ready for Christmas now right!!)
Since we are going under the assumption that this will be his last one, we want to enjoy it for more than 2 weeks.. I'm hiring someone to put up all the lights outside since I'm too old to do it anymore... LA TERI..... are you in the over 50 group yet..
Plus with BF coming up and all these Glade deals I have to go down and do yet.. just won't have time later on... that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it...

Dec12 Girl - I also have a daughter who has/had a speech impediment and we went through years of therapy, counselling, special ed classes, etc. My daughter had alot of surgery done on her mouth, her jaw broken on purpose, her pallete cut and stretched.
All just trying to correct her structure in and around her mouth so she could talk.
My daughter was tested throughout school and was always 2 yrs behind her peers in all aspects.
Today she is 27, she graduated with honors from high school, went to college. She is now married and trying to get preggos. I'm very proud of her and how she accomplished to come out a strong and independent women after all she went through.
So you see I really wasn't trying to offend you or anybody else, I really do know from first hand experince what you have to go through. I used to have to drive her 25 miles to a special school that was for children that had speech impediments for 3 yrs..before she was allowed to be integrated into a regular school.
Of course as you probably know children with speech impediments usually results in behavioural problems, since they can't communicate what they want to say.
My daughters thing was biting people... That lasted about 3 yrs... lots of parents didn't want her around their kids because she might bite them. That was hard on us, but very understandable.
Anyway sorry rambling again, as all of us with children know there are many challenges they face, be it if they have any kind of disability, allergies or not.
So my thoughts and prayers are with you and hope all goes well for your DD.

I have the Shark - I was the one that posted the H2O vs Shark compare a few weeks (months?) back - I'd go for the H2O if T offered it (to buy w/overage) but since they don't the Shark is a decent alternative.
It comes with 2 pads and they will last a good long time if you don't put them in the dryer and shrink them. The mop just seems flimsy to me since the steam is activated by "pumping" the handle as you push the mop - and it's a pain in the butt to empty when finished (but you will refill it a few times while you are using it) - the tank is smaller than the H2O and it does not detach like the H2O. Other than that, it does work well - it's just not as convenient as the H2O. For free, I'd get it. If I had to pay for it again, I'd spend the extra $10 and get the H2O. Hope that helps!
