Good prep to start. Where the area is exfoliated well by some method.
o Leaving some felt stubble may be how you prevent ingrown. Foils are good as that's about how they shave. Just not as clean if unwashed; so irritation builds. You will need to be clean before and after(balm).
o Rinsing with cold water may help some. Then a good no-alcohol lotion.
o Shaving more often may help stop them. Before they get stuck with no exfoliation.
o Exfoliate daily even when not shaving. A simple shaving brush or MILD scrub. That will be your washing done; in one step.
o If you are talking about loose privates then you may rather trim lowish instead(a body groomer trimmer) and not shave to close.
o Certain complete hair removal methods may last a bit longer; but then consider permanent laser removal. Pulling and chemicals can irritate many; for just a little longer time.
The razor here is for trimming through longer hair first and then maintaining some felt only stubble. Like a body groomer; which also has a good smooth trimmer (to leave around a centimeter of length).
Note: For closer, smoother less acne shaves then Double Edged Razor wet shaving is better for face and legs. Not only can that go closer (after practice, blade and holder gap adjustment to you) but you can also set it up (very mild) for less close. Including shaving close in some face/leg places and less close in other ingrown prone area simply by changing the angle slightly; within the SAFETY gap margin. Of course there's nothing wrong with a foil then to touch-up areas blades don't go easily. Like ear hair. Think blade > Foil > Trimmer. For different needs.
No need to buy expensive foils to do all; because that's not what they are best with. So this deal looks affordable. Sometimes when not mowing the long forest down then one single inexpensive foil alone works best for refinishing.
Remember DE blades (ladies legs, mens beards) are ready all the time with 100% "charge", cordless. pop is a new 8 cent (Astra on sale) DE blade and you're good to go! Two sides for 4 shaves or more before you have to pop-in the next $0.08. Turn to open makes it easy; if your need a mild gap(for starters). Three piece holders (get a wider gap if you are older and have tougher stubble; but that takes practiced technique) and they let you mix and match handles. All manner of colors and decorative handle options; if you require pink, etc... Starting at $2 for a forever holder (with blades). So you can get many and try them. No need to go for the costly versions of any of this. Any decent, sturdy (chromed brass) butterfly/Turn to open (TTO) holder will work.
