I don't want to start a debate, but I disagree. Not only would synthetic still be beneficial for wear, but he could extend drain intervals. Sending in used oil for analysis would be the best bet. I also would say it is more environmentally (and financially) friendly to keep a car on the road instead of the junkyard.

Is it per oil type or per promotion? (e.g. can I buy two jugs of 5w20 and then 2 jugs of 0w30 for my other car?)

It is two rebate checks total for all grade and oil types (super, super synthetic, full synthetic). Full terms and conditions will be updated when made available on Mobil site, probably on 8/1.

Rebate is not limited to specific grades of Mobil 1. It is good for any Mobil 1 motor oil. Links are for the grades that are $10.88 after $12 rebate.

I always use conventional motor oil for my 1998 Honda Accord and it has more than 170K miles now. The engine is still working perfectly. No noise nor leak. Can I switch to this high mileage full synthetic motor oil and will it protect my car's engine even better?
