Be aware that if you are going to use this phone on Verizon or Verizon MVNO, that there are serious call quality issues. Be sure to read about them at the Motorola website Community/Support Forums. Simply search on "Moto G5 plus Verizon" and look for a topic "very poor call quality". There is a Moto/Lenovo support analyst that is providing updates to a potential fix for this issue. Users report they cannot hear conversations and others can't hear them either. Be aware before purchasing if using on Verizon.

Back when i used flagship phones i didn't even know sub 200$ options existed. I though my options were flagship or junk. After seeing the light i just can't justify adding 30$ to my phone bill for a flagship installment plan. Let alone purchase a $500+ phone.

I'm slowly convincing my relatives to give up their flagships. They are great phones, but for our uses we have no need to all the bells and whistles. Reducing your bill by 30$ a person sounds very appealing. The phone will pay for itself in a few months.

Rooting is life but you can't bother to check XDA? Lol.

Great Phone. Looks like price drop is because of G5s Plus announcement.

Question.

What is the bootloader unlock and rooting scene on this one? I need a phone desperately at this time point but rooting is life.

Thanks.

Since this isn't the Amazon version the bootloader will be unlockable and you can root the phone and flash custom ROMs as you please.

I haven't tested the camera myself, but according to a tech youtuber in whom I have absolute trust it produced pretty- sometimes very pretty- shots if you have adequate lighting, but when the lights go down the camera really struggles.

I am using g5 plus and another person has s7 in the household. S7 seems to have better processing, even though it's the same sensor. I have to try using a third party camera app to fully differentiate, but the difference is not that great for me to go through the trouble just yet

I'm glad that they're (at least saying they're) working on a fix for the issue, but I seem to recall reading that tinkering around in the cellular network settings (Advanced calling/HD voice I believe) remedied that issue so, in the meantime, call quality wouldn't have to be a dealbreaker.
