Shopping around for a better internet deal... I see Comcast/Xfinity whatever they want to call themselves nowadays has 25Mbps Performance Internet for $34.99 in my area of Florida. Just thought I'd share with those who are looking for cheap internet vs speed although 25Mbps isn't bad.
That is a perfectly average price. Nothing slick about it.
It would be interesting to compile pricing around the entire country to see how much it varies, I struggled to get less than $49.99/month a while back. Probably because I live in the middle of nowhere.

Actually he's overpaying by $5/mo. Average price is $29.99 for those basic 25mbps speeds. Some people who have actual deals get free Blast speed upgrades at $29.99/mo.
you have to cancel service, tell them your leaving the country, get a friend or roommate to sign up,your a new customer after 6 monts of no service, looking for deals on Comcast don't use your computer use your phone,as they track your computer
Yeah.. I pay about 50 for 50 Mbps now and looking at gig service which is indeed 80
Another Portland gig is WAVE.also 80 but with some intro promos. I have been close to busting the data cap which is now enforced and expensive.. so that alone may cause me to switch
Oh wow, we have a home phone service and 25/5 internet from Comcast at $100 a month after taxes and rental fees and all that.
I wonder if this deal is available in a Chicago suburb.
You need to call Comcast ASAP & tell them you want to cancel your service (at least the internet portion). Of course, you're bluffing. At this point in the conversation, you'll soon marvel at the deals they'll like offer you. The reason is that it is easier (and cheaper) to keep a current customer than to acquire a new customer.
Also, if you are renting a modem from them, you should buy your own modem ASAP and of course, return the rental modem to them ASAP.. Trust me It'll be money well spent. You'll 'break even' in usually about 6-10 months... but then, (and as soon as the modem is 'officially' turned back in to CC) there is no more silly modem rental fees... ever again. :-)
Those 2 things alone should decrease your current bill by $20 (and likely more). Good luck!
Comcast increased the speed of the Performance 25 in many major cities, if not all of them, to Performance 55 a couple of weeks back, at no charge. I was on this Performance 25 with a 'speed addon' (increase to 100mbs) for an extra $15/month. When I saw the speed increase to 55 I called and cancelled the addon since 100mbs was a little more speed than I needed.
