I have this laptop with 16gb of ram, additional 500gb M2 SSD, and the 1440p OLED screen.

If you can find the OLED version for under $1400, get it instead. The 1440p screen just received an update to enable HDR and is one of the best laptop screens on the market. I was able to hit 1440p/60fps/high on Destiny 2 beta easily.

It is an awesome laptop. You can get the graphics amplifier and stick a new GPU in it in a couple of years as well. It will play anything that comes out for the next few years at 1080/1440, and when you go home you can plug it in to the AGA, allowing you to play 4K/60+fps in the future. I got the laptop a few months ago, and plan on getting a new GPU in one or two GPU generations.

There are some potential thermal issues, but fortunately Dell warranties are solid and repasting is easy.
Just FYI it's been 7 months and my wife has yet to receive her Slickdeals mail in rebate. She won't ever be doing that again.

This seems pretty hot for a 1060 and 7700HQ, not a fan of the form factor/design/weight though

Better deal for a gaming laptop if you don't mind dealing with a refurb:

Does the rebate work if I modify this configuration (Add QHD screen + Win 10 pro + Killer 1535 WiFi) and if I make use of dell credit?

Just got this one instead. repped! I just hope I don't get a lemon. Worth the risk for a GTX 1070 for the price
