To be completely fair, the discussion here in The Lounge has been on a steadily downhill track nod for the last several years. (I blame the SD admins for hiring Loungers as Mods.)

The threads on here are difficult to follow, because there's so much useless chatter.

I'm not talking about the Lounge as I never bother with it, but I do visit the Hot Deals and Finance sections. Maybe I'm just a luddite and don't know how to properly use it, but I (and lots of others) preferred the FW format for these things. Not being able to rate each post and filter by post quality is a terrible thing once you know about it.

Don't worry. With a little time and participation you can degrade to the level of degenerate that is necessary to maximize the experience of being a member here.

FW is a smaller community so some topics could be discussed in more detail between a few members before aholes would do their thing. Dropping something into the SD waters sometimes means watching it get ripped apart , like a pack of vicious piranhas rip up a baby bird that has fallen into the water from it's nest above.
The lounge is a smaller safer pool.

You can click a button and ignore threads you aren't interested in. You can start your own FW migration thread and SDer's will leave you be. I think when we aren't logged in there is a way to vote on posts and threads. Someone help me out with this!

Yes, E.B./urlhasbeenblocked bought FatWallet, promised good things but end up cannibalizing its profitable parts, then throwing it under the bus. I feel for the staff there that made FatWallet what it is.

Nothing lasts forever. SlickDeals could end up in the same boat some day. We never know.

Amazon is monopolizing everything and it will continue to be an issue. I only recently learned of Amazon Essentials (they even make their own brand of underwear now). One has to wonder how long their gravy train will last.

I actually remember the local news footage of them in their living room with books all over the place trying to fill orders. It's shocking to see how much they've grown.
