I just picked up Dark Souls III for PS4 [redbox.com] at my local redbox kiosk. YMMV on Xbox One [redbox.com], though I would guess it would be $4.99 as well. Seems like a pretty much throw-away price for a well reviewed game.

That happened to me as well. Reported it asap, got a coupon for a free rental good for 6 months. I am sure the perps were caught. Its not an anonymous buyers system.

I did the Redbox deal where home front: revolution was $3 and it was correct. I think you need to change your mindset from "guilty until proven innocent" to "innocent until proven guilty". Have you ever had any problems with the wrong disc or are you just repeating the stereotype of Redbox?

On the website. Do a search for the desired game, and on the game's page you'll see the rent at the box / buy at the box buttons, and then it'll prompt you to select your redbox (as if you were renting it). You can even reserve it for purchase through there.
