Nikon - Coolpix P900 16.0-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black $579

It's a camera I wanted to like, but after shooting with it for a day, I'm glad I rented it first. It's all about the zoom, but anything past 800-1000mm really needed to be braced or tripod assisted. VF has a pretty small field of view, lots of creaky plastic, good IQ if you fill the frame with the subject. Don't even think about using it in lower light as it's still a small sensor cam. IMO, the Panasonic FZ200/300 cams are still at the top of the super zoom's, especially with their constant 2.8 fast lens. Try before you buy. This P900 is not a good family camera due to it's small sensor..one can get a very nice dslr at this price and it will really deliver the goods. The Canon T6i, Pentax K70, Nikon D3300/3400 are much better choices. If you need a lens with more reach than the kit 18-55mm, the Nikon DX P 70-300mm lenses are outstanding and afford. One of their best sub $800. lenses that can be found new at the $200. mark.
