These are good calibrators. All the Spyder5 models have identical hardware and differ only in software support. However, none of their software is good, and you're better off using DisplayCAL via Arygle anyway. I bought the Spyder5EXPRESS when it was $80 on 11/11/16 [imgur.com] and have used it on a few desktops and several laptops.

I don't recommend spending more to get the Pro/Elite. Just grab the Express for $30 less right now, or set a CCC (tres camels) alert and pick it up when it drops under $100. It might take an hour or two to figure out how to install the Argyle driver and configure DisplayCAL, but instructions are freely available. You'll save quite a bit and will get even better results than using Datacolor's software.

Go to CCC and search for https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UBSL2TO
