You must be mistaken 117 for this. Fluke 117 has the VoltageAlert mode but 115 doesn't.

I have this meter at work. It is a big step up from the cheap multimeters so common on Amazon. This one also has a non-contact voltage detector in the top of the meter.

I picked up the 117 basically new in the fluke bag for $50 off FB Marketplace. I'm not sure the difference between the 115 and 117 but it looks nearly identical and they're definitely much nicer and more feature-filled than any other multi-meter I've had. Already paid for itself in TV repairs/resells.

How well is the RMS compared to standard VOM? Where will this be advantageous on?

Pretty sure the 174 frys has for $99 often is better / more features and lifetime warranty vs standard warranty
