There will be a medium level bottleneck. If you are planning for such a high performance GPU, then better look for i7-7700HQ based one. May be the below one is more suitable for you.

Yes, it is. The last cheapest price was $800 during the release of these new series and posted by me only.
And one thing, even being a Max-Q design, this particular model performs very very close to a normal GTX 1060. Reason is the big size of the laptop when compared to slim design of the other Max-Q laptops. Because of the bigger size, the cooling system on this laptop is very very good which lets the GTX 1060 to maintain higher Turbo Clock speed most of the time and throttling is almost non existent.

also for egpu, you may want to look at the AW line. The AGA is much better priced, has shown in many head to head comparisons that TB3 has as higher performance loss. Tb3 can be as high as 30% frame reduction. Also the 7700hq may bottleneck it a smidge, it's equivalent to about an i5 7500 desktop. Unless you go with a clevo, your not really getting around the cpu though. Also with the AW, you get TB3x 4 lanes, and their proprietary AGA option.

Specs here [dell.com] indicate that with a 1060 it starts at 6.28 pounds. Kind of heavy, imo. But good price if you don't mind the weight.
