I am current Comcast customer with internet and basic TV channels in my plan. If i can get this deal, i am thinking, i can buy one samsung device from them so i will be able to get 500+200-3 months service till i get my card. Can i cancel the xm mobile after i get my gift card/credit? i think to get this offer, you need to port at least one number to them. pls correct me if needed for my above understanding
TIA
xm supports xm only. if you try sim workaround it eliminates some bands and result in less service. if you do deal for promo- you must keep phone and sim paired to remain eligible. after u receive gc you are free to do whatever you want. fyi.
PM'd about 5 hours ago.
- This is Verizon MVNO.
- XM does not officially support BYOD, but you can do it; that is, if you BYOD and there are issues, they won't support you, but many people have done it, and yes it's as simple as swapping SIM/confirming compatibility with BYOD phone. Supposedly if the phone's IMEI is eligible for activation at similar MVNO (E.g. pageplus), then it should work with XM
- The above said, XM will not just send you a SIM. You *must* buy a new phone from them, even though you apparently don't need to use it to activate service.
So, you can BYOD but are forced to buy a phone just to get a SIM, essentially. I was looking into moving to this service to save $$ (not even thinking of the promo offers, but on a continuing basis since I am already an internet/TV customer), but having to buy a phone just to BYOD is absurd, and even reselling the cheapest phone would take awhile to "payback" given the savings I would have on service every month. Word is they are "working on BYOD by year's end" but I'll believe it when I see it.

agents ARE NOT required to proactively offer this to anyone calling in. some do. some dont. ymmv like any other company and offer.
the samsung 200 per line is stackable with 500 retention gc promo only.
i can help people in specific parts of the country so pm city and state and i can potentially eliminate the guesswork and hassle if you are in an area i do assist with.
