There's a new director's cut that removes all the Confederate stuff and any references to slavery. Best 12 minutes ever committed to cellulose.
It looks like there were multiple releases of the film that some people might care about:

"...MGM immediately re-released the film in spring 1942, and again in 1947 and 1954; the 1954 reissue was the first time the film was shown in widescreen, compromising the original Academy ratio and cropping the top and bottom to an aspect ratio of 1.75:1. In doing so, a number of shots were optically re-framed and cut into the three-strip camera negatives, forever altering five shots in the film. How long does rent period last? If I rent them now, could I watch them 20 days from now? On Youtube, you get 30 days to BEGIN watching and then when you do, you have 24 hours to watch whatever you rented as many times as you want within those 24 hours. Same?

Renting the Hobbit movies for 99 cents doesn't seem like a great deal until you realize it's cheaper than other sleep aids.

An Alternative if you are spending money not Amazon Credit:
A number of these are $2 (+ tax for some not all) to OWN via Vudu's Mobile Disc to Digital. Might as well cough up the extra buck (if not using Amazon Credits) and own it. I didn't check but those that are Movies Anywhere should transfer through to another provider if you have accounts linked
