This is NOT A LOYALTY PROMO! All it is is bringing us back to supposed discounted phones BUT again slapping us with $20 access fees each line which essentially in a 2 year agreement pays the other half of the phone.
I was on an unlimited voice/text with a 3GB data plan (capped at 3GB LTE then slows down) and paying $72 a month with my foundation discount. While I did get the offer of $499.99 for the 8+ 256GB and $699.99 for the X 256GB, it requires me paying an additional $20 access fee each line. So the access fee of $40 on 2 lines x 24 = $960. The 8+ 256GB is $499.99 + $88 tax (9.25% SOCAL tax on the retail price). The X 256GB is $699.99 + $106. So both phones cost $1394. Add initial supposed LOYALTY discounted phone cost $1394 + the access fees of $960 = $2353.98.
If you had bought the phones outright at $949 for the 8+ and $1149 for the X, your total would be $2292. How can that be slick? LOL You end up paying more for both phones with this supposed LOYALTY deal!
^^^^This only applies if you're on a mobile share plan, if you're on unlimited your line access does not increase. So it makes it a great deal if you are not planning on switching (and have FAN discounts).

Just chatted with ATT and got iPhone X 256gb for $699.99 and iPhone 8 for $249.99 plus tax and no increase to my monthly bill
I got the iPhone X 256GB for $699 and the rep told me there would be no change to my plan.
HOWEVER, after digging further with the rep to make sure he was correct, my $25/line access discount would be lost for the 24 month period. I asked for a manager and the manager had no way of removing this since it's added automatically.
So for those of you that got the deal and AT&T told you there was no change - hope you have your chat logs! Because I think this will be added if you're expecting the same discount.
They offered the following prices:
$250 - iphone 8 64 gb (initially offered $295)
$509 - Note 8
$345 - S8
$445 - S8 Active.
Can someone tell me if this is a good switch for plans? We average 10-15 gb per month in data so overage would probably not be a concern. Also I wonder if others got lower prices for the note 8, s8 then above. Since they lowered the price later on in the chat on the iphone 8, im guessing theyll do it with the others too.
Ideas?

I failed twice over the phone so I went to the chat. At first he told me my $20 monthly access fee would be raised to $40. I explained that my account does not have a $20 access fee... he took about 5 mins then came back to explain that if I don't have an access fee, nothing would increase. I have a 28% signature discount that will also stay.
I am now proceeding with the $699 purchase (iphone X, 256GB), no activation fees. ZERO changes to my monthly bill and I will be under a 2 year contract (subject to ETF).
Additionally, if you have the grandfathered unlimited plan, you should NOT be getting throttled and you should have tethering access. I've previously had these conversations and the original contract makes NO mention of throttling, hence you should not be subjected to it. The original plan also makes no mention of tethering restrictions, so they allow me to use my phone as a hotspot now.
So if you do this right (and have a similar plan set up), you are effectively getting a $450 discount on this 256gb phone. You will be subjected to an Early Termination fee if you drop AT&T before the 2 years but I have no intention of leaving so I'm fine with that.

I have a MSV 20GB plan with RD and Corp Disc. Id lose my $25/line/mo discount as well. Trying again to see if I can get someone in the Loyalty Dept to allow me to keep the $25 discount.
Here's what I got (At&t customer for 10+ years with grandfathered unlimited plans). I tried to do the chat last night but had no success after waiting 45 minutes to get connected to someone. I gave up and sat down at 8 am sharp.
Once connected I asked to be connected to a loyalty agent. 2 minutes later I got connected and stayed with that agent.
1. No change in my current plan (all charges will stay the same)
2. Paid for both phones upfront
3. Samsung Gear 3 (frontier) for Free
4. No activation fees
5. No shipping fees ( 2 day business shipping)
6. 2 year contract agreement (no change in service or fees just agreeing not to leave for 2 more years)
2 Note 8's and a Samsung Gear 3 Frontier for $1,006.73 OTD!!!
Whole thing took 2 hours and 20 minutes of my time this morning BUT I'm Very Happy!
