I bought this a couple of years ago it's pretty decent. I've used it about ten times, only difference I noticed between this and some more expensive ones is the noise I guess.

Can i use this to cut small tree branches occasionally? Branches which are thicker to manage using hedge trimmer.

You could, but it is the wrong tool to use. It would be like trying to hammer nails with a rubber mallet.

Nope just get a good japanese made hand saw....they cut like a dream and you dont have to haul out the extension cords
