I have Yamaha 5.1 receiver and Speaker set installed my builder. I am assuming this will work with that set-up?

TIA

This thing is actually pretty crap.

It's the one piece of the AJ system anybody over on avsforums will tell you not to buy (versus the rest which is excellent bang/buck)

For ~20 bucks more on sale the Dayton Sub1200 is vastly better for any application that'll play under 40-50Hz (ie any sort of home theater or gaming use)... and in a music only application even the monoprice 12 is likely a better buy

As with all speakers and subwoofers, it's entirely subjective to what you think sounds good to you. If you want a sub to round out a 2.1 computer setup, and are space conscious, this is an excellent choice. I've paired this with Audioengine A2+ and it really enhanced the depth of sound in my office. I'd have no qualms recommending it for a specific purpose.

I mean, if you live in a dorm room or something I could see it... but otherwise even the monoprice 12 that was just on sale for $80, which itself isn't great for HT (but fine for music) is a better sub for less money... and a dayton Sub1200, often on sale around $120, is worlds better than this thing (and beats the Monoprice for HT/gaming use)
