So here's a vent about my MIL that I need to get out to someone besides DH: (you don't have to read it or anything)
Anytime I talk to my MIL about baby things, or something I've bought, the first thing out of her mouth to me is "You're not even going to need any showers, because you already have everything."
Seriously? I bought a crib sheet that matches the bedding...so now I don't need any showers?
She never threw me a shower when DH and I got married, and I don't think she was planning on throwing me one for this baby, except DH's sister suggested it. So she reluctantly asks me for some dates, and then they schedule a shower with DH's extended family like a week before my due date. Ugh. They seriously couldn't pick a date any earlier than that?
So yesterday DH's sister (who's helping with the shower) calls me and says that she was thinking "since I already have everything I need for the baby, we could do a book theme for the shower."
I told her I thought a book shower would be a great idea, because we don't have any books yet either, but we also still need tons of gear. I've only had one shower so far and I got all clothes, so there's still plenty of goods on the registry. So finally she decided we'd do a regular shower.
After I hung up I patted myself on the back for not ripping her a new one on the phone.

I thought I had the necessities to get us through until we moved and have been to the store picking up odds and ends (some quite pricey).
