Hi gals...our little girl came into the world on Saturday morning @ 3:53 AM after about 12 hours of labor. DD and I were watchigng Dora Friday morning and after 2 episodes of Dora and continuous contractions, I decided I should start paying attention to them. After about 3 hours, I called DH to come home and off to the hospital we went. I was still only about 2 cm dilated. The nurse in triage checked me again after an hour and I was a tad bit more dilated. She tried to strip my membranes and ended up poking Addison in the head. Her heart rate did a nose dive down to about 70 so the nurse called my OB and they admitted me. Got into the room around 5 pm where they hooked me up to pitocin and some penicillin for Group B Strep. I waited it out a few hours and finally asked for an epidural due to the fact that I was having hellacious back labor! At almost 11 pm, I was still only 4 cm dilated and starting to feel nauseous. They brought me some phenegran and within 15 minutes, I was out. The nurse came in @ 3 am and said judging by my internal monitor, pushing should be close. LOL, I didn't have a clue, I was sound asleep and couldn't feel anything. So, she checked me and I was at 9 cm. At 3:30, the Dr arrived and everything was prepped for delivery. Around 3:45, we were ready to push. I didn't even get to practice push because the baby was so close to being out. The nurse said don't cough, sneeze, push, or do anything else until the DR gets here, okay??? The Dr came in, I pushed 4 times and in 7 minutes, Addison Reese came into the world. She's gorgeous, birth weight was 7 lbs 13 oz and she is 19 inches long. Apgar scores were 9 and 9. We came home on Monday and life has been hectic. She was jaundiced and lost a lot of weight due to my milk supply not coming in. Apparently, my breast anatomy is all wrong for breastfeeding and she has latch issues as well...So, we'll be formula feeding. All in all, everything is great though! Now I need to catch up, looks like lots of other babies were born!!!

Sorry to hear about the BF not working out. Did you speak to a lactation consultant? LJ and I were having issues in the hospital and the nurses really didn't do much for us. I called the nurse in one night and told her that I was having problems getting LJ to latch on (pre-clipping of his frenulum) and thought she would help me as she helped a couple hours prior. She walked into the room and LJ was crying and I was near tears and she said, "what do you want me to do for you? I can't make him BF the right way." I was pissed and she left and I started Crying2 Next day spoke to the lactation consultant and we got lots of issues ironed out. Honestly, I think $$ is just as big of a motivating factor as health reasons are. Have you thought about pumping and bottle feeding? I am still baffled at how your breast anatomy is all wrong.
