PS is making me mad. I already have funds loaded to the account and PayPal set as default payment method and they are still forcing me to add debit or credit to my account in order to complete purchase now.

Its a freebie, why do I even need any payment method linked...

One of these days I'm going to have to buy a PS4 for all the free skins, themes, and etc I have for it.

I noticed that, too.

It's the first time it's asked for my card on a free item. I added my card and removed it after I made the purchase. I then purchased other free items from PSN to test it and it didn't ask me for it. Maybe it's the Minecraft packs... but I'm not 100% sure.

Wow. Just tried it and it's the same for me.

Not gonna do it. I've never had a credit card on my PSN account and I'm not going to add one just for a skin for the kid to ignore on minecraft.

+1 to this; I'm all for free stuff on PSN but not if they're asking for a CC. TD.

I agree, there shouldn't be any requirement for a credit card for free thing. However with Xbox it's the same thing for everything, so I'm kind of used to it. I was able to just add an old Visa gift card and that worked. You could probably do PayPal and just set a limit.
