These are most likely units that were returned for excessive back light bleed which this unit is known for

I have this monitor and the BLB is noticeable if I look for it, the IPS glow is more annoying to me though.

Newegg had this monitor new on sale for $899 about a month ago btw

Exactly with a 3 year warranty. 90 days sucks for something this expensive.

Yeah, you're probably correct. I had it in my eBay cart when it was on sale from Newegg at $899, hesitated and it was sold out. So tempted by this offer but the 90 day warranty instead of 3 yrs is worrisome. Hope the $899 comes back at Newegg as it's also tax free for me.

Wow, this is absolutely an amazing deal. This monitor currently is the top 34" 3440x1440 g-sync monitor. I have it and bought it back when they had that $999 deal, but even at its full price at $1500 it would be a top contender. At $825 it's a no brainer. This >>> Acer X34 (I had to return it due to terrible scan lines, BLB, cannot guarantee O/C to 100hz). This is also better IMO than the X35, which is a VA panel, had better contrast ratios and brighter display, but the ghosting was a huge issue which completely resolved when I switched to the AW.

Seriously, get this NOW.
