For instance, The $5 McD gc runs for 11+ weeks and they are only awarding 800 of them.
The current Amazon IWG runs for 10+ weeks, and only 1000 are being awarded.
This is a current trend that I believe will continue. JMO.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. At some point you would think doing that isn't a good idea. Talking with each other and making friends here I'm all for. If a person has a problem I'm glad to give what ever help I can. Just not going to do something that screws everyone here and myself in the long run.

Coke got good return on their commercials tonight (repeated way more than usual). World Series, bottom of the 18th, longest post game ever. LA just won!
Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
Sometimes, I think people here thinks that slickdeals is a top 10 internet site or something. The number of people finding out about the IW games from this site is pretty low compared to the number of people that simply know about it because they are Coke members. There are not enough people finding out about the contests to affect your chances of winning that much.
And those complaining about codes versus sip and scan are just mad that things have even edout. You are just mad that your unlimited source of unpaid for codes no longer allow you to dominate all the prizes and contests. But that is a huge reason whyMyCokeRewards doesn't exist anymore. Stop complaining just because your free ride is over. Your free ride is why we lost the good points based site in the first place. And why the point values of prices more than doubled from the start. Every cap you picked up on the street or out of a garbage or because you have a friend at a recycling center was 3 points that Coke never expected to be redeemed. When too many of those unexpected caps started entering the currency stream, it caused inflation and eventually, Coke simply decided to change the program to one where the total cost to them could be more controlled. Coke wants to spread the wealth around. If they are spending $1 million on a promo, they don't want 5000 people to get $200 worth of stuff. They want $500,000 to get $2 worth. That is also why last year's Holiday IW was a one of each prize per person, even though they are still too stupid to do something to limit people with hundreds of accounts, like say deactivating accoutns after inactivity, which would atleast cause the multiple account people to login and do something once every 2 months or so, like they had to do every 90 days with points.
Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
They may get better deals, sure. But I bet the number of east coast fans who were watching Coke commercials in the 5th inning were not watching the 17th inning. Hell, outside of Boston, the number of East coast fans watching the 8th inning was probably much lower than those watching the 4th inning. It is absurd to start the games so late when Rob Manfred says he is all about "bringing the kids back" to the game. Yup...you are going to do that by guaranteeing that most of the country's kids can't watch the last 2-3 innings of every game.

Yeah..but they pay extra for all those repeat viewings. It isn't as if TBS ran the last 3 hours of the game for free. Until some time in the 90s, the NHL used to go commercial free for overtimes, but it isn't as if they were airing commercials for free. They just awesomely stayed with the game during breaks, which also greatly shortened the overtime. Full 20 minute scoreless OTs in the playoffs would often take less than 30 minutes to play. I remember one Rangers game that had just one stoppage for the entire 20 minutes, meaning from the opening face off of OT to the end of it, took like 20 minutes and 40 seconds. (Granted, that doesn't really apply here since they wouldn't be able to air commercials anyway without any stoppage...but it was still amazing that there were no penalties, no offsides, no icing, no two line passes before those were eliminated, no pucks out of play, no pucks held by the goalie, etc.) But ain't no sporting event going to give away commercials for free these days. Would have been nice. The game could have ended at least a half hour sooner if they didn't have to give the extra 50 seconds per half inning for the extra post season commercials. (Meaning, it is at least 50 seconds longer than they feel the pitcher needs to warm up.)

Definitely true more eyeballs=more competition, no debate here. Members who know about contests/deals and don't share them with the thread but are sure to enter all the accounts they "manage" into them are selfish freeloaders. They have the audacity to suggest only they and those deemed worthy should know and none of us should share. We've all gotten deals, are entering contests or offers we otherwise would not of known about because of the benefits of crowdsourcing. It is what it is that Coke changed their rewards to primarily sweepstakes.
This thread is awesome. Hope people keep sharing, not only contests, but the glitches, the easiest ways to redeem for prizes and enter contests, or maximize your codes.

That's what I think/believe too. I joined MCR in the first year after seeing it on Powerade bottles. I figured I could get a free bottle for every 8 I bought. And back then I was going through several dozen a summer. But IO didn't check MCR regularly, so I knew nothing about the holiday stuff until I stumbled on this site. (I did totally stumble on the free 12 pack coupon but I read the 1 per account thing and didn't realize there were other times to get more...so I got a whopping 1.)
I'm pretty sure I learned through Microsoft's Club Live through a friend who learned it through here. We were all lurkers at some point. So I just don't get the animosity toward them.
And not to harp on the sip and scan versus unlimited codes, but I have a question for these who get mad at that. you say you want fairness...so, what if Coke brought back the points system, and got rid of Sip and Scan, but also got rid of codes and changed it to a system similar to Ibotta or Savings Catcher where you had to enter a code or take a picture of a receipt that showed that you actually purchased a Coke. Can't get any more fair than that. It would distribute points or game chances proportional to the amount of money you spend on Coke throughout the year. And then the program would be more like what Coke wanted in the first place - a loyalty program. Not a cap scavenger hunt.
How many of you with unlimited caps would be OK with that 100% fair method? My guess is none of you. Because while it is undoubtedly the most fair, it is not fair to YOU.
Yes...I love Sip and Scan. Because even though based on what I read here, I probably actually spend more money on Coke that 75% of people here, I get almost exclusively 12 packs because I buy it for the soda, not the codes. And even though I know I have to cut back for my health, I will not complain and say "Now there's no reason to buy Coke anymore." when the program officially ends. So I have a disproportionately low number of codes compared to most people here who actually give Coke much less money in business.
This is a moot point for the upcoming (hopefully) holiday game anyway. Even before Sip and Scan, they had been starting the AMOE (which is required by law) on the same day as the contest. So all the Sip and Scan did last year was make it less of a nuisance by allowing us to bypass the captcha.
The bottom line is that everyone here probably gets more than our fair share of goodies from Coke. With me and MCR, it was from point wins in previous holiday games rather than unpaid for codes. Now, it is from free codes being sent out and the long small, easy to win prizes in instant win games. But since I get more than my share, I sure as hell am not going to get mad that others may also get more.

Give up soda. It is hard on your kidneys.
