Welcome to the official SD Coca-Cola.com/offers / Formerly My Coke Rewards Discussion Thread, proud to talk rewards since 2006! (We often discuss Coke promotions, (texting games, sweepstakes, etc.), which use Coke/MCR/codes or membership info to signup.)

Site: https://us.coca-cola.com/offers

A toast to My Coke Rewards, the Greatest Rewards Program in History! Applause

Coca-Cola.com Offers FAQ, (Formerly My Coke Rewards [MCR]):

- How may I contact them?
  • Phone: 800-520-2653 to reach an agent directly
  • email address: [email protected]
  • Ask Chip, your virtual agent, (formerly Allysa and Hank) on the site footer under the CONTACT US link.
- When does the promotion end?

There is no specific end date for the program.

- Inactivity

Each particular Coke promotion may have its own activity clause.

- Participating Products:
Barq's, Coke, Coke Zero, Dasani, Diet Coke, Fanta, Fresca, Mellow Yellow, Minute Maid, Powerade & Powerade Zero, Fuze, Pibb, Sprite, Seagram's, Tab.

- Values:
Point values per code are no more, All codes are equal value, but check promotion. Check packaging for a MyCokeRewards Label! Not all Coke packages have the MCR logo, (i.e. 6-pack w/glass bottles).
However, in Coke's Give Program to schools, codes still have different values to school donations, see wiki below!

- List of Accepted MCR Letter & Number Code Characters & Character Substition

There are 25 total characters, (letters or numbers only), that are accepted in 14-character MCR codes, (out of 36 available, A-Z, and 1-0). Five of the characters may also be input as substitutions for other similar-looking characters. Either upper- or lower-case letters are accepted. The available characters are:

Letters: B F H J K L M N P R T V W X (No C D E G* I O* Q S* U* Y Z)
Numbers: 4 5 6 7 9 0 (No 1 2 3 8*)

* The five accepted substitute characters for similar-looking characters:
  • B = 8
  • V = U
  • 5 = S
  • 6 = G
  • 0 = O (Zero, '0', is the officially accepted character according to MCR error messages; letter 'O' is the substitute.)

- Where do you find all the codes?
Here are a few ways...
- drink soda
- participate/lurk on this board
- ask friends/family/neighbors/co-workers to save
- dumpster diving
- jumping out of cars upon seeing flaps on the side of the road
- referring a friend on the site
- ask Maids to save for those who travel
- ask recycling centers to save
- purchase on eBay
- sporting events, zoos, parks, etc
- make trades
- become buddies with vending machine stockers
- become the vending machine stocker

Quote from McReggie :
That's what I think/believe too. I joined MCR in the first year after seeing it on Powerade bottles. I figured I could get a free bottle for every 8 I bought. And back then I was going through several dozen a summer. But IO didn't check MCR regularly, so I knew nothing about the holiday stuff until I stumbled on this site. (I did totally stumble on the free 12 pack coupon but I read the 1 per account thing and didn't realize there were other times to get more...so I got a whopping 1.)

I'm pretty sure I learned through Microsoft's Club Live through a friend who learned it through here. We were all lurkers at some point. So I just don't get the animosity toward them.

And not to harp on the sip and scan versus unlimited codes, but I have a question for these who get mad at that. you say you want fairness...so, what if Coke brought back the points system, and got rid of Sip and Scan, but also got rid of codes and changed it to a system similar to Ibotta or Savings Catcher where you had to enter a code or take a picture of a receipt that showed that you actually purchased a Coke. Can't get any more fair than that. It would distribute points or game chances proportional to the amount of money you spend on Coke throughout the year. And then the program would be more like what Coke wanted in the first place - a loyalty program. Not a cap scavenger hunt.

How many of you with unlimited caps would be OK with that 100% fair method? My guess is none of you. Because while it is undoubtedly the most fair, it is not fair to YOU.

Yes...I love Sip and Scan. Because even though based on what I read here, I probably actually spend more money on Coke that 75% of people here, I get almost exclusively 12 packs because I buy it for the soda, not the codes. And even though I know I have to cut back for my health, I will not complain and say "Now there's no reason to buy Coke anymore." when the program officially ends. So I have a disproportionately low number of codes compared to most people here who actually give Coke much less money in business.

This is a moot point for the upcoming (hopefully) holiday game anyway. Even before Sip and Scan, they had been starting the AMOE (which is required by law) on the same day as the contest. So all the Sip and Scan did last year was make it less of a nuisance by allowing us to bypass the captcha.

The bottom line is that everyone here probably gets more than our fair share of goodies from Coke. With me and MCR, it was from point wins in previous holiday games rather than unpaid for codes. Now, it is from free codes being sent out and the long small, easy to win prizes in instant win games. But since I get more than my share, I sure as hell am not going to get mad that others may also get more.
So because people have jobs that put them in a spot to get a ton of codes or know people that can get them codes its unfair to people that cant get codes on a daily basis? How this changed since the very beginning of the program? It's not going to hurt you over all since they limit how many prizes an account can have. Yes you can have multiple accounts but theres nothing stopping someone from that. You can always make more accounts yourself.

Target is doing a buy 2 get 1 free sale on video games, board games, books, and dvds/blurays starting the week of the 28th. Fingers crossed for some target goodness if the holiday promo starts.

Thanks all for the tips on fixing the Amazon entry. I guess deleting cookies worked. Still losing but at least I can do that every day on my own.

New thing. Mellow Yellow Outdoor Reward Sweeps. It shows up in my Active Rewards. But when I go to claim it, it brings me to the entry screen. I am sure I entered this every day. It doesn't saw I won. It's just there. Anyone else have this issue?

I think the main reason we are not winning as often as we have in the recent past is that Coke has lowered the number of prizes.

For instance, The $5 McD gc runs for 11+ weeks and they are only awarding 800 of them.

The current Amazon IWG runs for 10+ weeks, and only 1000 are being awarded.

This is a current trend that I believe will continue. JMO.
I miss the old days when Coke was very generous with their instant win sweeps. If you played consistently you would eventually win during those times. Now the AMOE thing and 25 plays per day on some Coke instants combined with a low number of prizes makes it impossible to win. Instants haven't been the same since the blogging and Facebook takeover. The amount of prizes given out are few and far between and entering them makes you feel like you're wasting time.

I've found that happens when something goes haywire somewhere along the line when you try to enter a sweeps, you try again & then it goes through. Then it credits you with the start of the entry (say, the Sip & Scan), that initially *didn't* go through. The next day, instead of entering the sweeps via the regular Sip & Scan method, go directly to the rewards area and click on that claim it. It will then allow you to enter the sweeps that way (without doing the sip & scan again).

Is that clear as mud?

Anyone hear anymore about the Fuze awards. I contacted Coke but never got a response. The award is still in my account but instead of getting an error when claiming it now says page not found.

I always just forward the winning email to [email protected]
and tell them what went wrong. Several of us who did that got a response saying that they could see it was redeemed, and would get the prize. If you did try to redeem, I would definitely forward the email. Good luck.

While I understand the frustration of folks grabbing the info here and posting it elsewhere, this is also one of the few places to find out about Coke related contests and Instant Win Games. The more the group 'hides' stuff, the less valuable this thread becomes which leads to less valuable posts which leads to even lower thread value and so on as we circle the drain. That said, I have been very appreciative when folks have shared very limited contests via PMs and have stayed quiet when such is done. Now if we could get back to codes equaling points or some other mechanism that would prevent the abuse Sip & Scan codes have led to I would be happier. Even though I don't have a ton of codes, it did feel a bit more fair when we all had to collect them through the year in order to get the goodies.
Quote from tuffy :
I guess the private PMs to those of y'all on the 'special' list are the reason why this thread's been relatively quiet lately.
Quote from mdyoung :
"shared very limited contests via PMs" That's how the info should be passed around. When every offer with MCR required codes posting it here didn't hurt, because the contest riff raff couldn't run out and get 100 points, but it's a whole new ballgame now. Once it's posted here now with sip and scan and AMOE on just about everything the people here have almost no chance of winning. I know some people here are hardheaded and will continue to shoot themselves, but I'll never do it.
Quote from TheCarsForever :
I haven't seen a private PM for a coke related promo literally in years, but understand why they can happen. I definitely relate to this frustration since things shared in this thread often get taken and re-posted elsewhere. I have personally had a number of posts taken and re-posted when my goal was to share with this thread to help each other out. I prefer the thread conversations and the community it creates by sharing info but it is definitely a double edged sword nowadays.
Quote from McReggie :
No offense to everybody,. but when did this site (meaning the overall slickdeals site) become a "Let's not talk about anything to keep it for ourselves" site instead of what it was always intended to be...a place to share, with everyone, the offers of various companies? And almost everyone here found out about most of the goodies of MCR, and other brand loyalty programs by other slickdealers posting it for you to read, rather than saying "Shhhh..don't let others know."

Sometimes, I think people here thinks that slickdeals is a top 10 internet site or something. The number of people finding out about the IW games from this site is pretty low compared to the number of people that simply know about it because they are Coke members. There are not enough people finding out about the contests to affect your chances of winning that much.

And those complaining about codes versus sip and scan are just mad that things have even edout. You are just mad that your unlimited source of unpaid for codes no longer allow you to dominate all the prizes and contests. But that is a huge reason whyMyCokeRewards doesn't exist anymore. Stop complaining just because your free ride is over. Your free ride is why we lost the good points based site in the first place. And why the point values of prices more than doubled from the start. Every cap you picked up on the street or out of a garbage or because you have a friend at a recycling center was 3 points that Coke never expected to be redeemed. When too many of those unexpected caps started entering the currency stream, it caused inflation and eventually, Coke simply decided to change the program to one where the total cost to them could be more controlled. Coke wants to spread the wealth around. If they are spending $1 million on a promo, they don't want 5000 people to get $200 worth of stuff. They want $500,000 to get $2 worth. That is also why last year's Holiday IW was a one of each prize per person, even though they are still too stupid to do something to limit people with hundreds of accounts, like say deactivating accoutns after inactivity, which would atleast cause the multiple account people to login and do something once every 2 months or so, like they had to do every 90 days with points.
Quote from Ihateec :
Two things: I posted the IW contest here first, then in the other forum because if I didn't someone else would have. That simple. I didn't like that within 2 minutes of a post a new thread was started elsewhere on this site, but what can you do? BTW to call out member Brandon is nonsense. He posts TONS of sweeps that people benefit from. I may not win the $5 coke fishing pole crap, but last week I won a Nintendo Switch from one of Brandon's posts. He also posts Coke contests BEFORE they appear on this forum, but that's ignored. People are salty cuz as the poster above said their days of dominating Coke swag are over.
Definitely true more eyeballs=more competition, no debate here. Members who know about contests/deals and don't share them with the thread but are sure to enter all the accounts they "manage" into them are selfish freeloaders. They have the audacity to suggest only they and those deemed worthy should know and none of us should share. We've all gotten deals, are entering contests or offers we otherwise would not of known about because of the benefits of crowdsourcing. It is what it is that Coke changed their rewards to primarily sweepstakes.
My two cents (if anyone cares to read this long post):

I think part of the issue is the transformation from a Rewards site to a Sweepstakes/IWG site. Everyone used to be able to share in the Rewards. Not everyone can share in a Sweepstakes/IWG system. I don't have a huge problem with Sip & Scan because an online AMOE would still exist without it. I do believe the online AMOE with CAPTCHA was a small deterrent, but moving to more digital rewards is what has made fraud easier, and it seems like Coke has not cracked down on bad actors as much as in the old MCR system when they were able to enforce the number of accounts because you needed to have a real shipping address to receive rewards. I don't think removing Sip & Scan solves that problem.

I think the reason the thread has become more quiet is there really isn't anything to post. Most of the Coke site is relatively straightforward. If you check the Coke.com site around 1pm ET Monday-Wednesday, you are going to get 90% of the promotions posted in this forum. And there are relatively few promotions now that are time sensitive like there were on the old MCR site where rewards would run out. Even the "Flock to Unlock" offers usually give you around 36 hours to get in on the deal.

I am relatively new to this forum and SD Coke community (been here around 6 years), but it felt like most of the discussion in the old MCR site was not about the IWG/sweepstakes but rather promotions, deals, and bonus points that everyone could share in. And the posts dealing with IWGs usually were related to site outages that created prize backups. The new site has had relatively few of those outages and backups the old site would see.

I have sent a couple rare private PMs in the distant past (at least a year or two ago in the old MCR system) but most of those dealt with promotions that were not Coke-related that didn't have a home here. I stopped posting promos in the Contests & Sweepstakes forum a long time ago as some users there rubbed me the wrong way. I don't think there are as many private PMs in the SD Coke community as some here believe, but maybe I am wrong and not in the know.

But even if there are private PMs I am not privy too, that is that person's right. I have never understood the sense of entitlement some users on SD feel to sharing of information. Posters on this forum raise a bigger stink about users not sharing information with them but care little about users using multiple accounts. It is not against the rules to keep information that you have found to yourself. It is against the rules to enter these promotions under multiple accounts.

Posters posting Coke promotions on other forums of SD are not the problem. I think people give Brandon too hard of a time. I may have some minor quibbles with his style, but it is hard to fault anyone for putting in the effort to share on SD. And the Coke site is so straightforward with multiple free sweeps/IWGs, it is hard to believe that most sweepers and users were not going to find it anyway.

To me, the real problem are the bad actors and abusers. People weren't putting promotions in PMs because someone else is posting the promo in another forum. They are careful how they share contests because the moment something gets posted here, it gets abused to point where the people who play by the rules are snuffed out by abusers of the system. I am not a saint, but I usually try to play these by the rules. Even Brandon isn't completely altruistic; many times he posts IWGs after he has won his prize and moved on to a different game. As someone who searches for promotions on my own, I think I share a decent amount on this board, but there is some stuff I will not share here, and it is not out of fear that is going to posted elsewhere on SD. It is to avoid many bad actors that are already here on this SD Coke forum.

And I have to disagree with the poster who thinks Slickdeals is some hidden gem. Goldman Sachs isn't paying $500 million for a site with low traffic and little growth. Slickdeals has become more visible to people seeking deals, but more importantly, to users who are willing to push the boundaries of the rules and law. It is only natural that a site where users are seeking good deals and loopholes will attract people who abuse the system in contests and sweepstakes.

I won one of the recent fall college football contests. Filled out the digital "paperwork" and Hello World confirmed receiving it. They wrote this.....We have received your information and your eligibility has been approved. No additional action is required from you at this time. You will either be contacted or receive your prize within the guidelines outlined within the official rules........

Included in the prize package are 4 tickets to Ohio State football on this upcoming Saturday. I recall horror stories on this board from Summer game winners about not getting tickets before the date of their baseball game or the tickets were all in different rows or sections. I'm hesitant to plan and invite another couple to this game without actually having tickets in hand and know they are together. If any previous contest winners can let me know how soon before their events they received their tickets and if they contacted Hello World to "speed up" the process I'd appreciate it.

Email them ASAP by replying to the confirmation email and remind them that the event is this weekend, you haven't received the tickets yet, and you were wondering when and how the tickets would be sent and if there is a tracking number. They run a bunch of promotions so stuff like this could slip through the cracks as the people who approve eligibility may not be the same as the people who sent out the prizes. I think once someone sees that they will probably get them out ASAP by expidited delivery.

What email address did it come from? If it came from fulfillment or customer service HelloWorld email address, you should be fine with a reply. If the email came from an email that does not accept replies, you may need to add HelloWorld's customer service fulfillment email address as well. Hope that helps.

It came from "ePrize Fulfillment Services" . I'll send them a reminder email. Thanks for the advice.

Hope you have better luck than I did. Tickets were supposed to arrive before 10AM (the date of the game). They actually arrived @ 304PM. Needless to say, we didn't make the game.

Ouch. Was that after kickoff, and did HelloWorld give any explanation or compensation?
