Not as good a deal as the last dehydrator they had, but this is definitely a good price for a variable temp. It's probably rebadged, would be nice to see if there are any reviews out there of the original name brand unit.

Decent entry level price especially if you are looking to use this as a vegan/vegetarian.
AFA animal jerky, 240w and 5 trays means to me you'd better run it on high, take care not to overload trays, ALWAYS use Prague powder, and consider finishing the jerky off in an oven over 160F.
I'm a recent dehydrater adoptee and even with limitations this could be fun for $20.

I don't see the size listed on their site or in the manual. Does anyone know the diameter, and depth of the individual trays for this specific model?

I bought one of these too .. you can set the trays higher and you will get maybe 2 inches of depth and it will seal it is 12.5 inches and I am impressed by its quality.

The plastic trays seem to be good quality and should last a long time..
the fan is strong and I only had it just barely on low to dehydrate some fruit.. apples and bananas .. about 8hr run time .. I didn't want to cook them so i set it low.. if it was on high i don't think anyone would have any problems with jerky

its a real nice dehydrator and the price is amazing .. it would be twice the price easy on Amazon.

For me the issue was the diameter. I'm not saying others wouldn't find it useful, but once I go to the trouble of dealing with dehydrating stuff, I want to do more than 12" diameter trays can hold at one time, then put it (the dehydrated food, I mean) away to store for a good long time, For me, having to dehydrate stuff on a regular basis kinda defeats the whole purpose...
