I've installed around 100 of these at multiple businesses without disconnect issues, including running a pair of them in my house. Not sure what is causing your problems but I don't think it's the APs.
So have I, and they play nicely with everything I have, a mix of Android and Windows. Sounds like you've either configured or deployed them wrong, or bought overpriced hardware that doesn't like to coexist with other vendors.

It's an AP. Any router, but the USG will provide you with a single management interface for everything via the UniFi Controller.

I would recommend ubiquiti edge outer POE. This individual units come with their own POE injector to power them over ethernet. But the edgerouter POE does it natively so you don't have to worry about extra connection.
That is my current set up as I just hooked up my first AP unit. Going to get a couple more of these to finish the job.

I've installed quite a few of these. They don't play well with Apple products. Constant disconnects.

I have two of these APs in my house and never have any issues with 9 Apple devices in the family.

I have 1 and rarely have issues on iphone/ipad. I have seen reports that it relates to how apple handles the changes from 5 to 2.4. My issues seem to occur in the area of the house where all devices pickup 2.4. My house is 5000 sq ft and just 1 of these provide full coverage and more. This AP is great and way better than my ac1900 coverage (with another ac1900 setup as ap). Only issues I had was after a power outage it took a while to reset for some reason.
