I grabbed a Q3 Plus for $150 like new on eBay and honestly, I feel like the 720p is a huge letdown and this is coming from someone who has used WXGA (1280x800) projectors forever, the 720p looks terrible upscaling anything at 1080p unlike the WXGA projectors I have had in the past. The one I have is 500 lumens so 800 lumens will be good for a dark room, but DO NOT buy this if you are planning on using this with anything other than 720p and 480p resolutions or you will be sorely disappointed. Luckily I bought mine for my Nintendo Switch and Netflix so it worked out okay for me.

If I understand it correctly, you're recommending Q3 Plus over this? I'm completely new to projectors and looking for something of this size and functionality, like the ZTE Spro 2. Would Q3 Plus be a good alternative? Thanks in advance.

No, I am not recommending the Q3 Plus, or this projector. You would only want the Q3 or this projector if you are using devices with it that output at 720p or less. For anything else, you would want a full 1080p native projector, or at least a traditional WXGA projector which is 800p. The Q3 Plus that I have is 500 lumens and I think that is the bare limit if you want to project a decent 80-100 inch image in a dark room. I would not recommend the ZTE Pro 2 unless you are projecting at 60 inches or less.

Personally, I think the best value, if you are looking for a home theater projector, is the Epson 2100 when it is on sale. I had the 2050 and upgraded to the 2100, lost the wireless feature (which is pointless imo) and the Epson 2100 has been absolutely amazing. Furthermore, the lamps are only $50! So you could essentially get the same amount of time as an LED for just a little more but the picture blows it out of the water in every way.

I mainly bought the Q3 Plus for portable usage since it has a built in battery. Honestly, I feel like I may have been overzealous and should not have bought it at this point.

So bottom line, if you want a home theater projector, get an Epson 2100, if you want a mini LED projector and can spend a little more, I would highly recommend the LG PW1500 (which I also owned), or any LG projector as they are the best for color and remotes and UI imo.

Thanks for the input. I am looking for portable, not a home theater. ZTE seemed like a great option but I missed out on the recent B&H $149 deal and now cannot find anything close to this price. But I do have an option to get Q3 Plus for $140 in like new condition. Worth it?
Also, does Q3 have an option to use a cell phone as a remote?

If you need portability then the Q3 Plus is great. It has the built in battery (does about 300 lumens versus 500 lumens plugged in). You can also use your phone as a remote though I haven't tried that yet. The remote that comes with the Qumi is the worst remote I have ever used though, so that is something to consider.
