Got this for my wife the last time it went on sale. The jacket material literally looked like as if it was made with garbage bag. We ended up returning it right away.
If you are looking for warmth, lightweight (7.0oz) and great insulation this jacket has it. I mainly use it for my through hikes. Good for base layer as well. Other than that not good at all in the rain, and sleeves run a little long

Thank you. I was hoping someone who bought one from the previous deal would pipe up and give us some feedback. I missed that deal, felt bad about it for a long time. I guess I can stop kicking myself now.
I also bought it from the last deal of 60% off for my mom and ended up returning the down jacket because the down feathers would gather in one area of the compartment. They're supposed to stay in place. The color of the silver jacket end up being all discolored from translucency in some areas and colored down feathers in one area.

Agreed. Paid the $6 to send it back. Not warm at all. You can see straight through it.
Ghost Whisperer / MetaTherm is a very specialized jacket. It's primarily designed to be extremely light weight for active sports where every oz or even grams count like rock climbing or extremely long distance hiking where you have to carry everything for hundreds of miles at a time.
Ghost Whisperer is excellent for what it's made for. Otherwise there are other jackets better suited for the average shopper. This will be thin, light, water resistant-ish, and will pack down to save space. It's not a super cozy jacket like most people are used to.

What are you talking about, I wore it as my only jacket with one piece of Heattech during the last Northeast cold snap, and I was VERY warm. This isn't meant for you to stand around in.
I got one of their down coats years ago. It's much lighter weight than standard Patagonia, but compressed to basically nothing and is almost as warm. You could wear it under a shell and be super toasty. Not sure if it's a version like previous poster mentioned for rock climbing and being lighter weight, but it's really nice and fits me better than Patagonia (tall and lanky, it is a slimmer fit and longer.)
This 800 fill down may look thin but is of the fluffiest and lightest down that keeps you warm better than most 600 fill puffy jackets. Great for skiing, hiking, and any physical activity because it doesn't impede your range of motion and still maintains heat well. It's also extremely portable and packs down into its own pocket. Only knock i have with this jacket is the shell is very shiny and has too much sheen for my taste.
Great deal on an 800 fill down coat. I would be all over this had I not just lucked out and found a North Face hooded 800 fill down coat at Marshall's on clearance for $60. It is amazing how warm a coat using 800 fill down can be for how light and thin they are.
I got this for my wife on the last sale as well and am very pleased. Ultra light weight (which is what she was looking for) and MH fits us better than some other brands. It was this or a Patagonia Micro Puff. It's a good coat if you are looking for an ultralight down layer.
It does have a fairly shiny finish though-I have seen some that are even more so, but she likes it.

It sucks.
Super weak outer fabric.
My monkey man fleece was great though.
