Great deal guys,

The Google Chromecast Ultra is now $59 at B&H Photo Video

Combine with their currently promotion $10 off $50 using Google Pay, it marked the lowest price of this device of all time to $49

Outside of NJ NY there is no tax and free shipping, effectively $49 shipped.

I've tried Chromecast and fire stick, I love the minimalist approach of the Chromecast. Sold the fire stick.

I think a lot of people are confused as to how this thing works because of the flooded market of firesticks and rokus.

You can "cast" applications, videos, or screen shares from your device (phone, laptop, etc. that supports the cast feature) to the tv. Sort of like projecting.

My use case scenarios:

-Casting a Netflix show from my phone to the tv which is faster than browsing through Netflix or Amazon video on the firestick
-Casting a long YouTube clip to watch on the tv (rather then hunching over my phone)
-Casting a video from your laptop browser to the tv (works great for streaming videos Wink )

I have it connected to Google Home so i can essentially just say to Google "Play Stranger Things on TV" and it'll automatically turn on the tv, start Netflix and start playing where i left off.

I like how you don't need a dedicated remote as my phones always with me anyways.

Or a computer/laptop, it'll cast as well

Awesome, I have been looking for a deal on this.
The Google Express 20% wouldn't work because it wasn't available.
$49 and no tax is a sweet deal.

Thanks.
I was talking to someone in line at Best Buy on Black Friday, and she said she did not like that she had to use her smartphone for her Google Chromecast.
I will pass.

Not necessarily. You can control it via voice from Google Home for many services.
