I watched for a while for Hartford to Fort Lauderdale round trip tickets for June 22 - 30. After about 2 weeks, I bought my return ticket on Southwest for $113 for a non-stop. It was close to 4 weeks before I bought a departure flight. Flights in the summer were going up and sales blacked out a lot of summer dates. Finally, a JetBlue flight for $134 (also non-stop) opened up. Being summer, I don't expect that either site's ability to predict is as accurate as it is during the school year.
Neither site includes Southwest in their comparison. You do have to search their site on your own. Keep in mind that they allow TWO free checked bags in addition to your carry-ons. Also, if prices go down, and you rebook they will refund the difference in the form of a LUV voucher that you can apply to another flight within a year.
Also, I've noticed Hopper to be $5 per flight more than some of the other sites.
Neither Delta nor Southwest share their data with Hopper. Easyjet and Ryanair (Europe) do not either. You would still need to handsearch for these airlines.
