What's the deal?
Get a 4G LTE 3-in-1 Sim Card Kit for only $49.99/year! Enjoy 1,000 min/txt/mb's each month for an entire year!

What network does FreedomPop use?
All our 4G LTE GSM Sim Deals work off a TOP US GSM Provider to provide our users with Nationwide 4G LTE. If you aren't sure or want to know more, please feel free to PM us.

Do I need to activate it?
It will arrive already activated to your account. You will just need to setup the APN and download our APP. Please follow the instructions on the package the sim card came in.

Will I be able to keep my current FreedomPop number?
Yes! With this LTE SIM account you will first need to choose a new number and if desired to transfer over your number on an active FreedomPop account please contact us here for Admin assistance via PM or visit our Community Forums with your transfer requests.

Will I be able to port in my phone number from another carrier?
Yes! You will first need to choose a new number and if desired to port in a phone number from another carrier please refer to the following support article: https://support.freedompop.com/ap...e%20number
Please Note: There is a $9.99 fee to port in a number.

Why was I charged $0.01?
We strive to offer a low cost mobile phone alternative to larger carriers. After downgrading to our basic plan, a $0.01 charge can be applied, please refer to our Service Plans Terms agreement [freedompop.com] under "Active and Suspended Broadband and Phone Service".

How do I earn extra data? (Freedom Friends)

You can earn additional free data each month by connecting with friends on FreedomPop! You'll earn 50MB of additional data for every friend that joins our service per month, up to a maximum of 500 MBs per month. Both your account and your friends account must be active. If either account is dormant, sharing data will not work.

You can also share data between friend accounts (a maximum of 500 MBs, and 100 MBs with each friend). The account sharing data must be an active one. If the account is inactive it cannot share data with any friends and data cannot be requested of that account.

Please Note: If you have already received 500MBs of data -- either from the automatic Freedom Friends function that gives you 50MBs per friend or from data that has been shared with you -- you will not be able to accumulate more data from Friends. Please refer to the following support article for more information regarding Freedom Friends: https://support.freedompop.com/ap...86/kw/data

Have an Account or Billing Issue?
We encourage all our users to come to us first to see if we can explain any charge or resolve any billing issue before further escalation.

This translates to $4.17 per month. not too bad for 1.5GB of data.. Some people recommend Using google voice, hangout for better voice quality.

If this includes 1.5GB (with friends) then it's a pretty solid deal for sure. I've been using Google talk/Hangouts for 7 years now as my primary line & have learned it's reliable over all other free voip apps I've tried to use but call quality is still a hit or miss. Remember, FP charges extra's for Voicemail through their app.

What is the deal with FreedomPop's coverage maps? The coverage map on that deal page looks about 95% covered in orange to me, but their coverage map here [freedompop.com] looks like less than half the country is covered. They both appear to show 3G and 4G coverage superimposed. What am I missing?

Remember the coverage maps are for both voice and data. FP only use data. It's a huge difference.

Their website is lacking at time, this particular deal is basically data from AT&T. You get 1GB/mo (+0.5 optional) of data (no tethering) and voice/texts via their voip phone app. So no regular text/phone service, everything is just done over data. So you can look up AT&T LTE/3Gcoverage to get an idea. No 2G voice service though.

It actually says "GSM or CDMA", so GSM is AT&T and CDMA is Sprint.

Also, if you pay $4 a month for Premium Voice, your calls are sent over the voice network, not the data network. Granted, that doubles the price of this plan, but it's an option if you want it. I set up my mother with a free plan plus Premium Voice (CDMA), and it works great. (Come to think of it, it seems like Premium Voice may be CDMA-only. It's been awhile since I set it up, so I could be wrong.)

I hate this company, although cheap but the service is so iffy, calls go thru their app not the cell towers, and text messages also go thru the same app, so difficult to use, sometimes they try to charge $5 or so and if you dont see it comes every month on credit card even though you took care off all the details usually they mentioned on SD like removing the auto charge from settings etc., switched to redpocket mobile $5 per month yearly plan which is very good for light users but only get 500mb though which suited my needs.

After using the Sprint version and the ATT sim I would only use the AT&T sim. That works really good. Just get a few sims and switch them 1 cent each

Tons of complaints with the BBB and FTC and what's so great about a company that sells your personal info and has had more than one database breach ?

Oh wow, a database breach? *cough* Equifax *cough*.

Of course they sell my info and I have no issue giving it up for free cell phone service. Just like Google takes all of my data for free email, etc, etc, etc.

Been using FP for over a year now, consistently, practically every day. Very satisfied customer here.

When my phone was stolen, they were terrific in helping replace the phone and transferring my old number to the new phone. The little things are annoying, like the $0.01/day credit card charge if your phone goes inactive and the manual clicking once every month to regain your disappearing credit balance. If you can learn all of their "rules," FP can be a viable option for some.
