In terms of video quality, they are the same to me. However, even at HD 1080p @ 30fps, you still cannot see the license plate of the other cars well. In order to see the license plate of other car, it has to be quite close to you, and not moving as fast speed.
I tried using 720p @60fps, Although the clarifty is about the same (not able to see the license plate of other car), it is better in terms of seeing more clear in fast movement when pause. You can actually have a better "Guess-timate" on what's the plate is.
Nonetheless, it is good enough to capture a general sense of surrounding in the case of accident. I would connect it to a large portable USB batter for parking mode. I don't prefer hard wiring to your car. I tried that. Using a 18,000 mah battery, it can record non-stop almost 2 days.
Oh.. one last thing, Anker bundle the 2-port USB charger with the C1 and C2. But not the newer A1. So, get C2 may be a better fit for most people.

I purchase it for my wife's car and it works good. My brother in law has it for his car as well. Record the lady running a red light and hitting him.
Thanks for the prompt response and feedback about this dashcam. Much appreciated, my friend!

I got the C1 and C2 last year. The benefit of the C2 is that it comes with suction cup, and allows me to turn. Therefore, you don't necessary put at the center of the car. You can put it a put it anywhere and adjust the angle you need. The C1 only stick and doesn't turn left or right. However, C1 has metal case and C2 has just plastic.

Thank you very much for the feedback, as well. I've been wanting a dashcam for years, literally, but just haven't actually made myself buy one. I have a little extra money right now, so I'm seriously thinking about purchasing this one while it's available at such a good price. So, I really appreciate the feedback from y'all!
