This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

I think it's a GREAT idea!

If I was 26, had four kidlets, was "trudging along," and things were tight financially, I would MUCH rather get a gift like yours than some useless trinket or so-called "good" present that was miles away from being practical....

Remember, it's the thought that counts, and your gift idea sounds very thoughtful and caring; I'm sure they'll appreciate it!!!

BTW, don't forget "short-pack" Hot Wheels, Play Doh, or Cranium games as fun things for the kiddies... LMAO

Happy Holidays!!!

If I was your niece, I would probably cry at that gift. that is SUCH a thoughtful and wonderful gift. Really. You are a great Aunt. Laudry detergent, towels....such a luxury these days when even things you absolutly must buy are a struggle. That sounds PERFECT to me.
Tell the hubby to "shut it". Smilie j/k
Oh, and McDonalds.....they can buy FIVE things off the dollar menu. That is nothing but awesome. Their double cheeseburgers.......yummmmmm.

I have a niece we were close when she was young but haven't been for years.
She doesn't really talk to anyone on our side of the family. For whatever reason. Nothing d. . . .
For her and her husband I bought nice towels that I got a super great deal on (there are 8), a laundry basket, 2 bottles of tide, some stain cleaner, dryer sheets, and a bottle of wine. I thought I would put a card in it saying something about putting the laundry in and relax with the wine.

I also bought each family a target spiral sliced ham.

What do you think?
Very nice gift, esp. the wine. Big Grin

The kiddos will love the McD's and it will seem like "a lot" of $ to them. Very thoughtful of you, esp. for someone you aren't close to.

I HATE Chicago O'Hare Airport!!!!!

Got stranded for 8 hours (with 4 kids) for a mechanical plane problem (they never were able to fix it). Mad

During this time, I could have done a circuit of Targets and Kmarts with Littleteapot or Pretzels. Crying Would have been more productive and fun than spending time with a bunch of angry holiday travellers. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

The airline told us that they were trying to find another plane to replace our POS plane. My thought, "What? Are you going to call up Budget or Enterprise and see if they have a PLANE for RENT?????" EEK!
We did the same thing in September on our way to Disney Frown Had the first flight out (8AM) nonstop to Disney... got there around 7am to the gate and waited.. finally loaded around 2pm and then it wasnt even non stop! We didnt get to our hotel until like 8pm. We were NOT happy campers.. and no reimbursement for food or anything. They supplied COKE, SPRITE, DIET COKE and COOKIES!! For a flight full of kids nonetheless! It was RIDICULOUS! Our plane had some part broken and they were going to fly the broken part in.. they finally sent another plane for us

Is the Hanes coupon a scan and should I try to use it today?

I found a shyt load of Disney movie peelies 2 days ago and want to use them. Does anyone know what are the selected movies that give the $5GC. I see the ones that are in the ad, but it says selected others.

I love the gift basket idea!!! I did something similar for people with Glade, endust, etc. I personally love that stuff (you know, useful instead of something to gather dust) and in these times, it is much more thoughtful and necessary. I agree with telling you dh to shut it! laugh out loud

I heard that the Hanes coupon is fraudulent. I wouldn't chance it.

got it, thanks!! It looks very clear, even on the inkjet. I'm not too worried since they have been taking them, but I prefer no beeps.
Secret Unless you are using that at SK the 01 will beep and prompt the cashier for price. No worries though, the cashier will enter the price and move on to the next coupon.

I think that is a wonderful gift. You are giving the kidlets PJ's & a GC. More than enough.

Is the Hanes a black and white coupon with the most fudgly barcode that you have ever seen with Hanes written vertically on the left side of the coupon? If said coupon matches this description, stay far far away. I think it was over a year ago that I saw it and DELETED it immediately. It was quite obvious that it is a scan.

Yeah, that part doesn't bother me. I have some other q's I want to use, and Harris Teeter carries everything, only they won't take a q if it doesn't scan. Publix takes it, but they don't carry RiceWorks. Trying to save some time grocery store hopping.

Check out the picture of dd that Billiam411 did for me. It's her birthday today, and I thought she would like this. I think it turned out well. BirthdayGirl

We had our family Christmas gathering last night. I felt like Santa. Cranium and hooded bath towels and videos for the kids, and giftbags of glade and Hershey's Bliss for the adults. Everyone loved them!
