If I was 26, had four kidlets, was "trudging along," and things were tight financially, I would MUCH rather get a gift like yours than some useless trinket or so-called "good" present that was miles away from being practical....
Remember, it's the thought that counts, and your gift idea sounds very thoughtful and caring; I'm sure they'll appreciate it!!!
BTW, don't forget "short-pack" Hot Wheels, Play Doh, or Cranium games as fun things for the kiddies...

Oh, and McDonalds.....they can buy FIVE things off the dollar menu. That is nothing but awesome. Their double cheeseburgers.......yummmmmm.
If I was 26, had four kidlets, was "trudging along," and things were tight financially, I would MUCH rather get a gift like yours than some useless trinket or so-called "good" present that was miles away from being practical....

I have a niece we were close when she was young but haven't been for years.
She doesn't really talk to anyone on our side of the family. For whatever reason. Nothing d. . . .
For her and her husband I bought nice towels that I got a super great deal on (there are 8), a laundry basket, 2 bottles of tide, some stain cleaner, dryer sheets, and a bottle of wine. I thought I would put a card in it saying something about putting the laundry in and relax with the wine.
I also bought each family a target spiral sliced ham.
What do you think?
The kiddos will love the McD's and it will seem like "a lot" of $ to them. Very thoughtful of you, esp. for someone you aren't close to.
Got stranded for 8 hours (with 4 kids) for a mechanical plane problem (they never were able to fix it).
During this time, I could have done a circuit of Targets and Kmarts with Littleteapot or Pretzels.
The airline told us that they were trying to find another plane to replace our POS plane. My thought, "What? Are you going to call up Budget or Enterprise and see if they have a PLANE for RENT?????"
