Thinking about making a target run so I can be done......with buying. That would give me a three day break....
I'm really struggling with what to give dh's side of the family.....for several reasons. I really need to just rant right now.
my mother in law has her bf stop by yesterday b/c we didn't answer our phones.......oh and they want some shampoo and conditioner. I am not a freakin store ok???
Mother in law is constantly "offering" to watch dd...this is not something I am comfortable with doing a lot. Let's just say we have very different idea's about how to raise children. Dh has a dr's appt, I have some christmas shopping left to do (for her and her freakin boyfriend no less) and dh wants to go help a friend out at his shop. So I said ok call your mom and see if she will watch dd for about an hour so i can finish this shopping. She said No, "she's busy." I know for a fact she's not christmas shopping.
Mother in law calling me it INFORM me that I HAVE to buy her boyfriend a present. Uhm are you kidding me? Suggest away but don't tell me what I have to do. She just called dh 3 times in a row, he answered on the third time and explained that he was getting other calls....she hung up on him.
I call his one sister...what does your son like? she tells me...then proceeds to "b*tch" at me for not telling her what my step sons like....and then informs me that she did not buy them presents and will not have time so they will have to wait, b/c she isn't going to the store. Are you freaking kidding me??? Here's an idea....pick up the damn phone and call their father or their mother!
His other sister....for the past 2 years every birthday and christmas she has gotten dd nothing....always says I didn't know what to get her, so I'll drop it off later this week." As she gives ALL of the other nieces and nephews their presents (my step kids not included)
I'm just really fed up with his family treating my daughter and step sons like second rate citizens and I'm really not sure how much I want to go out of my way this year. I'm just so frustrated I want to say screw it and say we only bought for the kids this year.

That's EXACTLY what I would do...tell them you just couldn't afford to buy for the adults this year (they'll understand, I'm sure), and leave it at that.
Or, give the adults shampoo and conditioner...heh heh. Or movie tickets...

Regarding the others:
WTF is wrong with people. Christmas should be for the kids...I really don't need or want anything. I love Christmas (not so much this year for some reason). I love getting up on Christmas morning and watching my daughter dig through the mess. That one day I wish I had more kids. My daughter is particularly funny because she carefully opens presents one at a time, sometimes it takes forever. We have to stop so we can make more coffee. It is a hoot. But I digress.
Anyway I am sorry your inlaws are ingrates.
I hope your kids have a great Christmas, sometimes it brings out the worst in people, but the great thing is the kids don't usually even notice.
Jen ..you are an angel and right. I am sorry for your stress. They are not worth it! Perhaps make some treats/cookies or buy some w/qs and bring a gift box or plate. Announce that your gift to everyones some treats. Reading your post reminds me of that old saying .."you can pick your nose and your friends ,but sadly not your relatives!"

3 Goody Hair Products (4.19 each, I needed the bigger thicker elastics)
1 Free bag of pedigree (20lb)

2 bags of Doritos snack size (had $1/1 from complimenting)
4 pepsi 12 packs (had raincheck and $1/1 pepsi from trade)
3 cans of king size pringles (with TQ and 30/3 manu)

From the soup up I had coupons. All legit, nothing bad at all. I had printed the Target coupons right there in the store, because they have blue paper and why waste my ink? LOL.
I spend 1.5 shopping, matching everything up and checking out some things. Find DF and we head up to the register. I see Lakeisha and was like cool! I have my trusty coupon policy in my hand, and I had matched each coupon to each product. I literally lined everything up on the belt, TGIF coupon on top, TGIF coupon on top, etc through the soups. DF looked at me like I was crazy, but I told him just wait.
So Lakeisha comes busting over, didn't i tell you not to come back here and use coupons. I am moritifed and mad at this point. I then told her that i had talked to DM and he said that I could use coupons as long as I had the identical product that matched the coupon. She said, "He did not tell me, and I am the store manager." I said no, you are not, xyzz is the store manager. She got all puffed chest and got even more pissed off. So I told her to call the store manager out (knew he was there because i had called before i walked into the store to make sure!). She refused. So I told the cashier, please ring up my items, I would like to be done and get home to cook dinner. He starts ringing and scanning coupons. Lakeisha throws herself almost on top of the poor kid and starts screaming at him. Then she started grabbing my coupons and ripping them up! She ripped my free bag of pedigree in 1/2 and threw it away. She is ranting the whole time "Manufacturer's do not send people coupons for free products, you copied these (like I have hologram and whatever!) and I am not accepting it" I told her I had one of them, so there was no these. She grabs the goody coupons, you did not buy these. I showed her, she said you will be getting these for $2.19 I cannot sell them to you! I said fine, give me back my coupons. So she gets to the glade. She lost it here and so did I! She screamed, "I am not giving you a f****** giftcard for buying these products, you will not use coupons and get a giftcard. I said "ma'am the promotion is over, I just need these for a gift basket." Mind you at that time the entire checkout area became deadly silent. DF grabbed dd out of the cart and went out to the truck (he was mad as heck!). She then grabbed a basket she had by the register and took all my merchandise and put it into her cart! WTF. I lost it. I told her, "You are a f beyotch. I am doing a simple thing by trying to save money and yet continue to be able to shop at Target. I will be sharing my experience with the Better Business Bureau and all of my friends/family/aquaintences." I do not want any of these products, and I want all my coupons back now. Just then the SM walks over. Thanks jerk! I told him all about her impersonating him and she kind of slunk down. I told him that I would not be back to his store, and he just lost a valuable customer, and more than just me.
At this time DF walks back in with DD and gave the SM a new ahole. I

The next one is about 100ish miles away (depending on which route, its between 100-120 miles) and I cannot drive there that often. This one was just over an hour and was feasible to drive to during the week while DD was in school.

I told dh that I just didn't think it was right for us to buy presents for his sisters, when they can't be bothered to buy presents for our kids. (but will buy presents for the other nieces and nephews) and he said some crap about being the better person and he was tired of hearing about it bla bla bla....I kind of tuned out and went in the other room and had a little fit.

OMG. You so need to go back there with a TV news crew for one of those "expose the idiots" segments. Do something and make them pull the tapes on that incident.

I'll share my T story...not nearly as bad as yours.
Ok, I was already tired and not feeling well and I had left my q's at the first target which I didnt notice until i had my run altogether at the 2nd store, so had to go back to the 1st store and grab them. (left them on a sehfl, im a dummy lol) So then i go to a 3rd T....get my run together...which took forever b/c I just couldnt think straight.
Go to check out, everything goes fine and he gets to like the 3rd coupon and this witch in line behind me, who apparently works there, starts yelling at my cashier that he can not take internet coupons if they are not in color? I was like excuse me??? I use these all the time here. (rayovac) she yells at my cashier no, you can not take those turn on your light now. I'm pretty sure he's new so he listens. The cashier next to him was like what's going on? The old witch ignores her and I turn around and I say she's telling him not to take my q's b/c they arent in color...I told her and the witch...i have a black and white printer! She goes did you get these off the internet? I said yes from a coupon website!! ($1/2 bonne bell q's) so noone is coming to help him...she stomps off to gs to pull an lod or whoever back over...
meanwhile the very sweet cashier next to my cashier comes over and tells him to scan them and the register will tell him if he can't take them....so he scans them all and k1's like a champ, but i was seriously ready to just burst into tears b/c i was not even in the mood. Why is using coupons so freakin difficult?
I made a run to Target and bought some Disney Movies I did not need --gift card didn't work and I didn't realize it til just now. No w is ps to be found in the whole store. Bought a dewberry scented oil candle instead. Not quite as much fun.
Blew my last gift cards so I am Target broke. I bought over a hundred dollars in GC for family presents. It was sad.
Got stranded for 8 hours (with 4 kids) for a mechanical plane problem (they never were able to fix it).

Okay and since we're in the chat thread and I've already been hitting the wine, can I bitch and moan for just a minute? My 5 yr old ds went out to turn on our Christmas lights last Thursday night and our cat accidentally got out and he hasn't come home yet. I am so worried that something happened to him or someone mean did something to him. He's gotten out before and always come home within an hour or 2. I've went to every animal shelter around here, called every vet, put up flyers, posted online, and put an ad in the paper. Any ideas of anything else that I can do? Ugh, it's just making me sick thinking of him possibly hurt or something! Sorry, I know others have much bigger problems with human family members and he's 'just a cat' but he means a lot to us and I miss him and all of the annoying things that he does! Alright, I'm done. Thanks for listening, I can't say anything about it around here or the kids get upset all over again.
