This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Quote from frazzled4 :
She came back in today.

The receptionist called me 4 times to "remind" me she was there. I did a few things, made a few calls, checked out SD, made a few more calls. She showed up at 8:35 for a 9:00 interview, I went and got her at 9:58, we had the conference room all set up for her.

I had my tote of razors, and THE receipt.
I do not, nor have I ever, worked in HR, so I don't know what is "acceptable" or not, but if it were me it would have gone something like this:
First meeting/interview: I think I know you. Yes, I do. You worked at Target, correct? Yep, you were the cashier that yelled, screamed, threatened me over coupon." That's it. Go on with the interview and not hire her if she wasn't a good fit.

This seems almost cruel, not necessary, wrong, went on too long, unecessary waste of time on your part, your bosses and her, etc. But, like I said, never worked in HR. Would have been easier to say something in the beginning or nothing at all. But to bring her back in and do all that and then to HIRE her just to be mean and vengful to her?!?! Yikes.

Ya know...

As supremely ironic (and even hilarious) as the ex-Target employee interview situation is, I have to agree that HIRING her is an extremely bad move. It's unprofessional to hire her with the express intent of making her life a living hell, which is clearly (by your own admission) what you've done.

I mean, from a BUSINESS standpoint, hiring someone who is that confrontational and unable to get along well with others (I would imagine that attitude will trickle down to fellow employees, even if this person had no interaction with the public/customers in the course of their duties) is nonsensical.

Again, I admit, I found the genesis of the situation quite humorous---karmic, in fact. Even the second interview was pretty funny, with its coupon quiz and tub of razors. However, that being said, I would have ended that interview with a full and complete disclosure of who I was and how I knew her (since she didn't seem to get it herself), and then NEVER would have hired her.

Stormy ~ Glad that return to Target worked out for you! woot

And, in keeping with the topic that was presented last...my DD's poop was a lovely shade of reddish-orange (thanks to the tomatoes she ate for dinner yesterday...) with tomato skins! Teehee

Went to the mall today and our Department 56 store is closing. It wasn't there that long, but they had a sale that every product in their store was $1.00. Everything! They had quite a few things left (mostly Xmas ornaments and some Halloween stuff). They were also selling their fixtures and store tables/shelves/etc. I picked up three wooden shelves for $2.00 and two cute ceramic decorative pink bunnies (perfect for Easter!) for DD's room for $2.00. woot

BBW and VS had their sales going on, but nothing caught my interest!

No, no B-day parties lately.... I tried to remember all he ate yesterday and couldn't think of what caused the coloration.

Oh, and did I mention the smell that accompanied the poop? It was enough to turn *me* green! Sick

It was so good to get back to Target after a long first week back at school! I have already done 2 awesome runs today! I really want to go to one more Target today, but I guess I should probably get some laundry done. I wish that we would do a load a night so that we wouldn't have so much to do on the weekend!!

Is X-mas ringing up INF at all stores?

Does anyone happen to have any Progresso $1.50 coupons that they won't be using? I have $3 Coty peelies to trade. I don't think I have much else that anyone would want...maybe a few poptart peelies and a few Target Windex peelies.

Chicken nuggets make green poop? Wow! That's got to be a heck of a chemical reaction going on in there! EEK!

That sounds like what is going on at my house! Except for the Horse but I am sure we are on our way to that too nod

Anybody got a great way that they were able to get their DS to get up and go - mine doesn't want to go because he is in the middle of something - just lazy. With my first DS a couple of M&Ms worked but #2 doesn't care about the candy.

I enjoyed the story at first too, but then it began to sound like a tale that was spun for the web, created for our enjoyment.

Back on topic, poop. There, I said it. And that's all I'll say about it.

For poop?

To paraphrase Roy Schieder in Jaws, "I think we're gonna need a bigger Cheerio!"
