Apparently I already have machine for pigs in my library--did not know that. But I did scoop up Dark Descent and for that THANK YOU. This post should have more likes

I posted it to games, for that reason as well.
Don't see why it's moved here either, see mods post free games and content to the games category all the time.....pretty ignorant to not want to keep this placed to where it would help the most people.

Are these games ridden with cheap jump scares? Or so they function more on atmosphere?

Dark Descent is almost pure atmosphere with the few occasional jump. Haven't played Pig.

Kinda reminds me of this old code cracking game I played on Steam, completely forgot the name but it was an interesting game. If this is anything like that one, it should be decent.

Dark Descent was pretty good and the only game to ever genuinely make me scared to keep playing. Never got Machine for Pigs because I heard it was more of a walking simulator (it was made by Dan Pinchbeck, the creator of the original walking simulator Dear Esther), and I had planned to just watch a Let's Play or two like I did with Soma, but never got around to it. So now I can see for myself what it's like!
