Why would anyone use a travel agent?

Any more?

I hear ads for TA's on the radio.... and I think.... these people are still in business? One ad proclaimed "we don't charge extra fees". Well no shit. When I can book any hotel, airline, rental car, etc in the world from my cell phone, why in the hell am I going to walk into a travel agency?

It was originally developed to unite people. One common culture, everyone listening to the same song, evening news updates. African americans and caucasians talking about the same thing. Then commercialism kicks in and they started adding more channels.

Now it's subdivided into micro cultures. The info/news is there, but not everyone bothers to look at it. The MEs were using references from this new game I have no idea what they were talking about. Sounded more like pig latin.

You're welcome to post your choice. Last I checked they were all $9.99 a month. I choose Google because I can upload up to 50,000 of my own songs which comes in handy for indie mixes that aren't on the big platforms.

I only used a travel agent for booking my honeymoon. I didn't want to be held personally responsible for any screw-ups in travel/lodging from JFK->LAX->PPT->BOB (Hotel 5 Nights)->MOZ (Hotel 5 Nights)->PPT->LAX->JFK

That's probably the last time we did too - AAA, but that was before the era where making travel arrangements was so easy and accessible.

Mine was back in 2013 so it definitely would have been easy enough to do, but like I said I was just trying to avoid any potential responsibility should things go awry Big Grin
