You did it wrong. And applying with your SSN had nothing to do with your decline. Don't pretend to have an elaborate business that you can't back up - even if you can stretch it to seem kinda plausible.

What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
That one has an annual fee and requires $5k spending from what I can see, but the CB and bonus amount are indeed better.
When I signed up years ago, basic Ebay sellers were viewed as a business. Today YMMV but I still have the card.

One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

Got rejected because 6 cards in last 24 months. Anyway to get past this? Read somewhere that applying through physical branch might be the way to beat this rule. Any ideas? 🙂
If my above statement is false, I sure hope I can get approved on this. I have got 0 new cards in the past 14 months, have great credit, etc..., and one of the ones where I've paid on regularly is another Chase card... but if they're strict about some income limits, who knows.

On a side note, what is the difference between newegg and newegg business?

does anybody know how strict they are about income/employment? I'm trying to start a biz and quit my job over a yr ago. living on savings so I haven't filed taxes either. should I get a co-signer or do they even have that option? credit is 750ish & I have one credit card but it has a low credit line that I pay in full every month. had a card previous with a much higher credit line but I closed that one for the current cb card. thx in advance

People keep saying business cards have less protections. So are you saying if someone steals the card you're responsible for thousands of dollars in illegal charges??? If so, it could never be worth the risk. And people say closing the account hurts your credit. So you'd just have a card sitting around where someone at any time could steal the card.
Business cards don't have to follow the CARD Act like personal cards

Thanks. None of that is so bad. As long as you pay it off, there's no difference, as you'd not be dealing with APR, late fees, etc... anyway.

I'm sure hoping they're not, because I do have a high score, at least, and I can really use this $500 towards my pc build. I've been accepted for all cards I've applied ifor in the past EXCEPT for some reason not by Macy's.

Does anyone have any idea on how long they'll keep the offer going? I'm trying to wait until I have a better idea of income.

So I went to branch today and they were of no help either. It's just they would fill the same application like you would do urself online. Simply put I cannot get around this 5/24 rule. If someone is able to..do let me know. Until then I would wait and see if the offer is still available.

I wonder also why they say put only business stuff on it. They cover if someone steals the card, so why does it matter what's on it? I assume, anyway, that home expenses would count when you work from home...

Will purchase of a visa or mastercard gift card count towards the 3000 purchase limit?
